Honda S2000 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The rumors of a Honda S2000 are slowly becoming a reality. After months and months of leaks, renderings and alleged spy photos, we have some solid evidence that says the S2000 car will indeed make an appearance. Honda has confirmed that with the prospect of the NSX and S660 sports cars, the almost but forgotten S2000 is also planning a comeback.
Honda S2000
Currently, Honda doesn’t have a true sports car in its lineup. Some would argue that the Civic Type R is one, but we can say it’s just an extension of the Civic brand. But Honda is now gearing up to offer us not one, but three sports variants. People were most excited about the NXS for obvious reasons, but the prospect of getting the S2000 back is equally exciting.
The original Honda S2000 was produced between the 2000 and 2009 model years and was one of the most popular Honda products. Now, after such a long time, the popularity still hasn’t faded. The car was initially discontinued because Honda didn’t have a clear plan for the brand and there was also the issue of the global economic crisis. Now, when things are much more stable, the model is getting ready for the release date that is coming soon.
When can we expect the Honda S2000 release date?
The news about the Honda S2000 is still fresh, but expectations about the car are at an all-time high. The car will likely be offered in the model year, but we don’t have any exact information on when. The biggest guess we’re willing to make is the third quarter of the year.
What is the potential price?
Currently, there are no rumors about the price of the Honda S2000, and it is still early to guess. The model will probably receive its official price as the release date approaches. But we can probably say that we are seeing a figure of around €40,000 (Euro).
Exterior Style
Here the news is a bit more coherent as the Honda S2000 will adopt the style of their future planned sports cars. They said that they plan to make the S2000 similar to the NSX in terms of exterior design, so we can expect wraparound headlights, flared wheel arches and large side air intakes. Compared to the last incarnation of the S2000, all of them point to a robust design compared to the old sleek and spherical design.
Within changes
The interior of the Honda S2000 is actually the least talked about part of the car. So far, we haven’t reached the stage that involves the interior of the car. We don’t really know what it would look like, except that it will get a major boost from the final design. Look for it to include the details of the future NSX and S660 models, which will likely form the basis for the design and also help with the direction they want to take this car.
Possible drivetrain option
The biggest change in the upcoming Honda S2000 is that the original model was a front-engine sports car. However, the details of the future car suggest that we will get a mid-engine setup. This is also done for the NSX and S660 model, so it is easy to believe that this new model will do the same. The future of sports cars is seen in the hybrid market. One potential setup for this model is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine borrowed from the current Honda Civic Type-R car and an electric motor. This will likely result in an output of 365 horsepower. This also leads us to believe that they could use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
0-62 mph per hour acceleration
Acceleration will be an advantage for the Honda S2000 car. Since there is no official information and there certainly won’t be until the powertrain is set up, we predict a 0-62 mph acceleration rate of around 3 seconds with a top speed of 170 mph.
How will fuel consumption develop?
The future of sports cars is changing and the Honda S2000 will likely include the changes that all current models add. This means that with the use of hybrid technology, more and more cars are moving towards cheaper fuel ratings and emission rates. With the combination of an electric motor, the S2000 car gets some much better and more passable fuel economy numbers. The fuel economy will be much better, but the ratings will be made once the EPA has done their testing.
Dimensions
The size of the Honda S2000 is still being developed. The model has no figures to present yet in terms of the size of the car. It will resemble the last one, but it will also probably be based on the NSX car. Not only will they transfer the style of that car, but they can also do it with the size of the car.
Safety specifications
The new Honda S2000 will get all the bells and whistles when it comes to safety. Honda makes all its cars as safe as possible. The best examples are the future S660 and NSX sports cars, but also the standard list of recently released Honda vehicles. In addition to the standard offering that we see in your everyday car, this model will probably get all the necessary types of equipment expected from a sports model.
Competing vehicles
When the Honda S2000 is revealed, the rival cars will change compared to the rivals it faced last time. There has been a considerable gap in time and the face of the rivals has changed. According to the latest rumors, the next contemporary car could be the Mazda MX-5, which is being built up as the next competitor. Other models can be the Nissan Z-car, BMW Z4 and Fiat 124 Spider.
