Hyundai Bayon N 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

A new player has appeared in the European segment of B-class crossovers – the subcompact Hyundai Bayon . The model was created specifically for the countries of the Old World, and therefore was named in honor of one of the most beautiful places in France – the city of Bayonne in the south-west of the country. The novelty should attract customers with a non-standard design, a spacious interior, a scattering of electronic assistants and a set of “environmentally friendly” power plants.

Sales of the Hyundai Bayon SUV will begin in Europe this summer. The cars will be manufactured at a plant in Turkey at the same location where the related Hyundai i20 hatchbacks are assembled (the models share a common platform). Prices and configurations will be announced later. The crossover will not appear in Russia.

Dimensions and design

Unlike its venue, the new Bayon is over four meters long, reaching 4180 mm. The width was 1775 mm, the height 1490 mm, the wheelbase 2580 mm. In versions with simple 15-inch wheels (tires 185/65 R15) the ground clearance is 165 mm, in versions with large 17-inch wheels (tires 205/55 R17) – 183 mm. There is also a medium 16th diameter, which allows the installation of 195/55 R16 tires.

The wedge-shaped profile and the arrow-shaped taillights give the crossover a dynamic appearance. The feed looks expressive and original thanks to the optically enlarged rear window, which is cut by a strip of light, so to speak.

Model complete set

The interior design of the new Hyundai Bayon is generally the same as that of the donor Hyundai i20. However, due to the increased dimensions, it is much more spacious here: the front passengers have a headroom of at least 1072 mm, and the rear – 882 mm. The luggage compartment is also more spacious: with a five-seater under the shelf you can place up to 411 liters of cargo, with the second row seats folded down – 1205 liters.

The crossover boasts the most modern connection technologies. Even the basic Display Audio multimedia system with an 8-inch screen allows you to “mirror” the screens of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphones without wires. In older trim levels, the size of the central display reaches 10.25 inches, and the functionality becomes even more extensive. The list of services from Bluelink includes cloud navigation for connected routing, live parking services and online voice recognition. There is also support for remote connection to the car via the application on the phone: you can remotely control the door locks and view technical information about the car (for example, the amount of fuel in the tank).

Other features available for the SUV include a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, wireless charging of devices and Bose premium acoustics. There are three USB ports in the car: two in the front and one in the back (one in the front allows communication with the media center). The standard set of SmartSense electronic assistants includes lane keeping, automatic braking (with detection of pedestrians and cyclists), blind spot monitoring, warning of obstacles when reversing and a number of other systems.

Technical data Hyundai Bayon

The Bayon engine range consists of small-displacement petrol engines. The initial one is a four-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.2 MPI with 84 hp. and 118 Nm. It can only be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. Next comes the 1.0T GDi turbo engine with 100 and 120 hp power options. For an engine with less boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup is an additional cost, while a 120-horsepower unit is equipped with it as standard. Cars with a 48-V starter generator instead of the classic 6-speed mechanics will receive an iMT box, in which the clutch is not mechanically connected to the pedal (closing / opening is controlled by electronics). Another three-cylinder can be combined with the “robot” 7DCT. The model is exclusively front-wheel drive.
