After the concept car was unveiled, we can finally expect the production version of the Hyundai Ioniq to appear soon. The new project that the Korean automaker has been working on for quite some time is finally coming to an end.

After months of development, spy photos, rumors, leaks and various types of news, we are finally going to close the book on the Ioniq model. It was first shown as a compact model in 2016 and will be unveiled as a production car for the first time at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Ioniq model is Hyundai’s first hybrid car to adopt this company’s unique style and design language. It will be available in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, while the fully electric and also an EV car will also be available after the initial release. The case with this model is that it will use a hidden LiDAR system in its front bumper instead of the roof like many other autonomous systems propose. When is the release date of the Hyundai Ioniq?
We expect to get the Hyundai Ioniq soon. The concept version made its debut last year and we will finally see the production version first hand this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It just indicates that the release date is set for the beginning of and we are getting ready for a release then.
What is the potential price of the car?
One of the things that remains unknown for the Hyundai Ioniq is its price. The model has not been officially priced, but it seems that it will be a bit expensive compared to other models in the segment. This one will include some new features and technologies, so it will be offered at a starting price of around €40,000 (Euros).
Exterior design and styling
The newly developed Hyundai Ioniq will have an already familiar design language that is standard for many new Hyundai models. The biggest difference from the other models is that there are plastic elements on the front end of the vehicle that are designed to protect and hide the LiDAR system. It offers 104 horsepower and 109 lb-ft of torque and combines with a 32-kilowatt (43 hp) electric. The electric motor is located between the engine and the 6-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. The maximum power the car can produce is 139 hp and a range of 25 miles.

The new Hyundai Ioniq is also capable of achieving good acceleration figures. It will be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph per hour in 10.2 seconds, and it is also capable of developing a top speed of 103 mph.
Fuel consumption
The Hyundai Ioniq is said to offer one of the best fuel economy ratings you can find on the market. The hybrid version is rated at 57/59/58 mpg, which is a new record for a non-plug-in hybrid car. The EPA range is said to be 124 miles or 136 mpg-e combined. In terms of fuel efficiency, this car is the future. It really beats the competition in consumption and is a good and very reliable model.
Dimensions and size
As for the size of the Hyundai Ioniq, the dimensions will not be changed dramatically. The expected rates given here are pretty standard when it comes to using this type of model. The overall length is 176.0 inches while the wheelbase is 106.3 inches. The height of the car is 57.1 inches and the width is 71.7 inches. The total interior volume is 122.7 cu. ft. while the passenger volume is 96.2 cu. ft. and a cargo area measured at 26.5 cu. ft. It offers plenty of comfort during the ride and enough space for the passengers to enjoy.
Safety features for the car
When it comes to safety, the Hyundai Ioniq comes with a standard offering to protect its passengers. The car is equipped with seven airbags for starters and has a number of other advanced features. These include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warnings with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, and lane departure warning.
What are the competing models?
The new Hyundai Ioniq will be one of the first models to offer autonomous technology. But it is certainly not the only hybrid model on the market. There are quite a few models that can be considered for the segment and we consider them to be a great competitor in the segment.
