Hyundai Santa Fe 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Santa Fe used to be Hyundai’s largest SUV. Well, with the Palisade, that’s not the case. The automaker even discontinued the three-row XL version. If we compare the events of the past few years, we can say that the Hyundai Santa Fe is a mid-size model positioned in the place of ix35, while that nameplate became a compact Tucson.

The vehicle is currently in its fourth generation, which debuted in 2018. We have no announcements yet if the company will bring the first refresh. With the new Palisade and some other projects already announced, the Hyundai Santa Fe should remain unchanged. The mid-cycle refresh awaits the season.

The focus is on big rigs and crossbreeds

The midsize segment is not as popular as the compact segment. Moreover, only three-row models can cope with their smaller siblings. So it is obvious why the new Tucson is being facelifted and brings the new N Performance Sport model. The Korean company recently launched the all-new three-row Palisade. However, it plans to bring an even larger vehicle. The rugged SUV could be a premium model that will take on the Toyota Land Cruiser . Well, Hyundai follows modern trends. Luxury crossovers and SUVs are being developed under the subsidiary brand Genesis .

Why buy? And why not?

The base version of the midsize crossover SUV offers below-average performance. A naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is more suitable for the compact class. On the other hand, a turbocharged unit will surprise you with its performance. Also, the company has worked a lot on the drive system. Handling and AWD systems offer a unique experience. Despite this, fuel consumption is not one of the best in its class. Also, the model does not offer off-road capabilities that you would like to see. By reducing the third row and the XL model, the company showed that Palisade is becoming the flagship in the crossover SUV segment.

Engine and technical data

The Hyundai Santa Fe will not impress you with its performance. The base version comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Naturally aspirated, it cannot produce massive power. Some compact crossovers make more than 185 hp and 178 lb-ft. A fuel economy of 25 mpg is also not impressive, as some competitors will be more efficient with the V6 engine. Still, the AWD is smooth and improves handling. It won’t cost you too much, as it only consumes 1 mpg more than the FWD system.

The situation changes with the turbo engine. This one is good for 235 hp and 260 lb-ft. A significant boost is good for 2,500 pounds of towing capacity. Acceleration time from 0 to 60 is 7.5 seconds, while the base model needs almost 9 seconds. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on both powertrains.

Will there be a V6?

The company discontinued the V6 engine. A 3.3-liter unit was large and not too efficient. Still, we can hear rumors that some versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe might get it again. Without a solid foundation, we doubt that’s possible. The only way to see this is if the company develops a hybrid powertrain based on the V6 engine. Well, the automaker will probably aim for electrification of a four-pot engine first so that it can compete in the compact segment. On the other hand, this one would also be good for the mid-size model with two rows of seats.

Equipment variants

The new Hyundai Santa Fe comes out without the XL version, but there are other options that could make this one interesting. Well, the SUV is eye-catching and the look is not too old yet. Apart from attracting attention with its exterior, there are some features that will make you want this model.

The base version is the SE. Santa Fe will offer a 7-inch touchscreen display as the center of the infotainment system. The automaker packs its vehicle with some advanced safety features such as emergency braking and intelligent cruise control.

When entering the SEL model, buyers get some premium options, such as an 8-way power driver’s seat. It also gets heated. Turbo engine becomes an option, while the additional package can improve the overall impression. Some of the features you get through Premium and Convenience packages are leather upholstery, premium sound or panoramic sunroof.

The limited version is the most expensive, but also offers wireless charging, large wheels and navigation on a larger display. Ventilated front row and heated steering wheels are other notable additions.

Prices

The base model with the regular four-cylinder engine costs €26,000. The lowest price for the Hyundai Santa Fe with a turbo engine is €34,000, while the Limited trim with all upgrades will cost over €40,000.
