Hyundai Tarlac 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The upcoming Hyundai Tarlac is the brand’s new model. It is a body-on-frame pickup truck that will go on sale next year. Tarlac is not the company’s first pickup truck, as the Santa Cruz has already been spied in Europe. However, the new Santa Cruz is expected to have a major influence on the Tarlac model and its design.
Pick up Hyundai Tarlac
Unfortunately, we’ve only seen renderings of a new Tarlac pickup. Named after the province in the Philippines, Tarlac features a traditional design with a recognizable Hyundai design language. More details will be available in the coming months, but here’s what we know about this model so far.
First impressions
As we said, a new Hyundai Tarlac will look very traditional. The body shape is regular and Hyundai did not surprise us at all. It will be a body-on-frame pickup with a recognizable design language of the company. The front fascia was inspired by the Santa Fe and Palisade models. Tarlac rides on a classic ladder frame, unlike the Santa Cruz pickup, which uses a unibody architecture. Because of this, Tarlac looks more robust than Santa Cruz. Its robustness is especially visible from the rear. On the sides, this pickup is almost the same as the Mitsubishi Triton variant.
The rear end is fitted with larger taillights and the front part has an LED signature light. Tarlac will also offer a larger cascade grille surrounded by a plastic cladding. This clearly indicates a more affordable price as more premium models offer chrome accents around the grille. The split headlights look great along with the daytime running lights. Side fenders are more muscular and Tarlac sports beautiful sharp body lines.
Cabin rumors
So far, we haven’t heard anything about the interior. However, the Hyundai Tarlac will certainly not deliver any surprise. The thing is, Tarlac will not be a luxurious model, so expect pretty basic things. First of all, Tarlac will surely have a dashboard that offers more functionality and durability.
Furthermore, we can say that all interior parts are luxury-friendly. We believe the Tarlac will borrow a few styling cues from Hyundai SUVs and crossovers. However, seating capacity, cabin configurations and trim levels are not yet available.
Motor
The engine of the future Hyundai Tarlac is another mystery. Again, we don’t expect a brand new engine as its development is too expensive. Instead, the Tarlac pickup will use some of the company’s existing engines.
The most likely candidate is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Known as the Theta3, this engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. As an option, Tarlac could offer a 3.5-liter V6, which also powers the upcoming Genesis GV80 SUV . We’re still waiting for the performance figures, though.
Price and release date
The production of the upcoming Hyundai Tarlac will begin later in . This pickup truck should go on sale sometime in , most likely in the last quarter of the year. Regarding the starting price, Hyundai still refuses to give specific details. However, we expect an affordable pickup, so the price around $25,000 seems to be the most likely outcome.
