Jaguar XE 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The upcoming new Jaguar XE is a brand new model. Jaguar has made a fascinating comeback across the luxury vehicle spectrum under new ownership. The automotive giant has once again strengthened its classic positions and introduced novelties such as the F-Type. This has also shown its ambition to conquer new segments.
Jaguar XE
With the Jaguar XE, the brand is turning its attention to the bread-and-butter segment of small sport-luxury sedans, with the Audi A4 , Mercedes-Benz and BMW 3 Series leading the way. We can all remember how Jaguar tried this once before launching the X-Type, a fairly decent vehicle that was unfortunately dismissed as a tattered Ford vehicle by Jaguar buyers and believers alike.
This time, however, the British automotive giant has both manufacturing and dynamics on its side. As is usual with our reviews, it is imperative to check out other suitable vehicles. First up are the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which are sure to offer ruthless competition to the Jaguar XE. The latter rival boasts dynamic performance and exquisite design, while the former is equally competitive to both the C-Class and the XE. Other vehicles worth checking out are the Lexus IS 250 and Infiniti Q50. They come as fine sports sedans with top-notch luxury features and premium materials.

Engine specifications
Under the hood of the new “Baby Jag,” as it will become known, there will be several engines. It will be unleashed with two different models: XE 35t and XE 20d. The XE 35t trim model will feature a turbocharged 3L V6 engine under the hood. This engine can produce around 340 horsepower and 332 pounds of torque. This power will consequently be transmitted to the wheels via the 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The same combination also comes alive in the excellent Jaguar F-Type.
According to the automaker, the Jaguar XE 35t can whip from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, which is amazing considering other models in its segment. The top speed is limited to 155 mph. On the other hand, the Jaguar XE 20d will focus entirely on fuel economy with its 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that can produce 180 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All of the above models will be offered with the RWD system as the standard drive system, while the AWD will be offered as an option. We have not yet received official EPA ratings from Jaguar for either model. With that in mind, we still expect the diesel engine to target 37 mpg combined, which is returned by its BMW arch-rival BMW 328d.
Both the above models will be offered in three trim levels: Premium, Prestige and R-Sport. The R-Sport will come with 20-inch wheels, rear spoiler and performance-oriented suspension, as well as larger front air intakes. The features will highlight its sporty intentions at first glance. A sports suspension combined with performance-oriented settings will be standard on both the R-Sport and XE 35T models, while the XE 20d will have comfort-oriented ride equipment. Adaptive dampers will also be available as an option on the R-Sport and Prestige trim levels. In the future, the automaker is expected to expand the North American XE lineup with both a manual transmission (which is expected to come with both a V6 and diesel engine) and a turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine.
Exterior photos & interior changes
The new Jaguar XE appears to take inspiration from the minimalist, clean function of today’s Mercedes-Benz and Audi cabins. Expect plenty of suede and leather to adorn the seats, touchpoints and panels, with accents of gloss black, wood and aluminum veneer. More info from the driver.
The centre stack is also notable for its no-nonsense affair, anchored by a row of conventional buttons for climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen display for entertainment and Jag’s increasingly pervasive rotary gearshift lever. Jaguar’s InControl multimedia system also promises better graphics and faster response times, both of which are welcome improvements over Jaguar’s current units, which feel puzzlingly dated given the complexity of Jaguar’s current offering. Other XE tech amenities include smartphone app integration, Bluetooth audio streaming, a Wi-Fi hotspot and a premium Meridian audio system. An optional laser and heads-up display can relay information such as navigation and speed.
