Jaguar XF 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The Jaguar XF is sticking around for another lap around the sun, but a redesign is long overdue so it can compete against newer sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class , Genesis G80 and Audi A7 . Meanwhile, the XF P250 comes standard with rear-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 246-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Jaguar XF
The P300 version increases power to 296 hp and is a pure all-wheel drive model. While the XF’s powertrain offering is limited in size and performance, its price makes it the most affordable entry into the mid-size luxury car segment.
What’s new ?
Jaguar is adding a minor equipment update to the XF sedan by making adaptive cruise control standard across all models. To maximize the sedan’s value proposition, we’d opt for the base P250 S.
We see no reason to upgrade to the more powerful engine or add all-wheel drive in the P300. Our preferred model has plenty of desirable features, including an 11.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 360-degree camera system, a 12-speaker Meridian stereo, passive hands-free calling, and wireless charging.
Engine, transmission and performance
The XF is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that comes in two powers. The P250 version makes 246 hp and the P300 version 296 hp. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, but only the weaker one offers rear- or four-wheel drive. The P300 comes exclusively with all-wheel drive. Although we didn’t get a chance to test both versions on the track, we did drive the more powerful one. It reached 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, which is slower than the now-defunct supercharged V-6 model, but the Jag’s exhaust still sounds good. We appreciated the Jag’s supple suspension, which delivered fluid handling along with exceptional ride quality. The XF’s steering deftly switched between lightness at low speed and fierceness at high speed. The soft brake pedal also responded gradually.
Interior, comfort and cargo
Inside, the XF gets a subtle makeover. Gone are the rotary gearshift lever in the center console and the external air vents that opened into the dashboard. Now a drive mode selector rests next to the new gearshift handle, which sinks into the console when not in use. Jaguar has also revamped the climate controls with dials with independent temperature settings.
The redesigned center console houses a new standard wireless charger, and Jaguar says the space offers more storage. The front seats are wider than before and have larger heating and cooling surfaces. Passenger and cargo space remain unchanged, retaining the sedan’s spacious rear seat and roomy boot volume.
Price
In line with its slight increase in standard equipment, the Jaguar XF is only slightly more expensive than the 2022 model. This is how the trim prices break down:
P250 S: $47,000
P250 SE: $49,300
P300 R-Dynamic SE: $52,700
Now, the XF isn’t the cheapest entry-level luxury sedan available today. For example, the P250 S is about $3500 more expensive than a base 2022 Mercedes C-Class. However, it’s still the cheapest new Jaguar – the E-Pace starts at $48,000 – and the brand’s cheapest sedan. Yes, that last part is a given, since it’s also the only Jaguar sedan, but the XF justifies its price. Plus, four-door Jags have rarely not been class acts.
