What is the price of the Jeep Recon EVs?
There is no information available yet on the pricing of the Jeep Recon EVs , but you can expect them to cost in the same region as the base MSRP of $55,000 for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Before options, the Jeep Recon will likely be priced between $55,000 and $60,000, but with different trims and powertrain options, that will vary as well.
New Jeep Recon exterior and colors
The new Jeep Recon EVs are heavily inspired by the classic Wrangler and incorporate many familiar design elements with some similarities to the Ford Bronco Sport. The Recon’s exterior design reflects the evolution of the Jeep brand and showcases its aesthetic journey to date. The recognizable, illuminated seven-slot grille is a standout feature.
The Recon has removable doors and windows and a one-touch power roof, similar to the Wrangler. The visible door hinges not only add a retro touch, but also make it easier to remove the doors. It also features skid plates, blue tow hooks and aggressive off-road tires to maintain its off-road capability. With its sharp approach and departure angles and compact overhangs, the Recon is designed to be extremely capable on rough terrain.
Jeep has not yet released information on the color palette for the Recon, but it has been seen in colors like lime green, bottle green, outdoor olive and sleek gray. Press images also show a unique blue-framed black hood. Like other Jeeps, the Recon is expected to be highly customizable.
Jeep Recon Dimensions
There are currently no official dimensions for the Jeep Recon, but it is expected to be similar in size to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The Wrangler 4xe has a length of 188.4 inches, a width of 73.8 inches, and a height of 73.5 inches. It has a curb weight of around 5,100 pounds. The Recon may be similar in weight or even heavier due to the additional electric battery.
Jeep Recon electric motor and performance
Jeep has not yet released the technical specifications for the transmission and acceleration time to 100 km/h for the Jeep Recon, but stresses that capability is the top priority for the vehicle. To that end, it has a trail rating and is equipped with Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control, E-Locker axle technology and a clear appetite for the esteemed Rubicon Trail.
Instead of an engine, it has electric motors. Expect a dual-motor setup for the e4WD system with a large STLA platform capable of producing over 600 hp. However, for off-road use, base models are expected to produce around 400 hp.
Jeep sees the potential in electrification as a means of increasing performance and its 4xe technology is the evolution of its trademark 4×4 capabilities, with the Recon designed to have enough power and torque when needed to take advantage of the key performance areas Jeep values: fun, excitement and adventure. All in silence.
Range, charging and battery life
Jeep hasn’t revealed the Recon’s official specs on range, battery life and charging times, but they have stressed that its capabilities are a top priority. A range of around 650km on road trips is expected, with fast-charging capability of 320km per 10 minutes with the right charging hardware. However, the range and battery life may be less if you’re tackling the challenging Rubicon Trail.
Jeep Recon interior and cargo
The Jeep Recon’s interior hasn’t been officially released yet, but it’s expected to seat five and offer a rugged, functional and spacious design. With a flat floor and larger windows, the cabin aims to bring the outdoors inside.
The vehicle will feature the latest Uconnect infotainment system, including off-road trail guides, and is expected to have unique design elements. The trunk includes a trunk and space behind the rear seats with about 30 cubic feet for storing cargo. The electric chassis is expected to offer greater practicality than the gasoline version.
