Jeep Renegade 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
After last year’s design, here comes another round of updates. This time we see a completely new powertrain option, as the popular subcompact crossover will be available in a PHEV version. This will be the latest novelty of a model that has been around for several years and will certainly need constant updates to remain competitive. The Jeep Renegade is close to getting a completely new powertrain option, but other than that, we don’t expect any special changes.
Renegade
That means you can count on a familiar design that was updated last year but remains virtually unchanged for several years. So count on a comfortable ride, impressive off-road performance and a fairly intuitive infotainment system. Despite the new PHEV version, we don’t expect the new version to appear much sooner than usual, so expect it sometime in the last quarter of the year.
Redesign
In terms of basic design features, the Jeep Renegade will not change. Even the new plug-in hybrid model should not have too many exclusive details. This means that you can count on familiar styling that was updated last year. For this occasion, we saw things like new LED headlights, a larger grille, new bumpers, etc. That’s why we’re pretty sure that the best Jeep Renegade can offer new color options.
The same goes for the interior. The Jeep Renegade will continue with a familiar cabin layout. The current model has a fairly good-looking cabin that looks attractive and uses mostly high-quality materials. There are some areas with hard plastic, but the cabin generally looks very good. In addition to attractive aesthetics, it is also very practical and functional. You can count on two fairly spacious rows of seats. The cargo space also offers fairly typical numbers for the class. You can count on about 18.5 cubic feet behind the second row and about 50 cubic feet of total cargo space.
Characteristics
Of course, annual updates also bring some additions to the list of standard equipment, so the Jeep Renegade should be no exception. Still, we don’t expect too much from this crossover and the list should remain pretty much the same as for the current model year. This means that base models come with extras like a 5-inch touchscreen, voice control, Bluetooth, a USB port, and six speakers. On top of that, you get extras like 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreens, as well as premium audio systems with nine speakers, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, HD radio, and more.
On the other hand, we expect some improvements in terms of safety features, considering that base models currently only come with a rearview camera. The list of possible additions includes things like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, etc.
Engines
When it comes to the engine range, the two familiar petrol units will continue to work in the same way. The base models will continue with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces around 180bhp. The optional 1.3-litre turbo four-cylinder produces 177bhp but offers slightly better dynamics due to the higher torque. Both engines are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
When it comes to fuel economy, the optional turbo-four is a slightly better choice. It returns about 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, the standard engine is good for about 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
Jeep Renegade PHEV
As we mentioned, the biggest novelty for the Jeep Renegade will be a new plug-in hybrid version. The new powertrain was unveiled last year and we already know most of the details. First of all, we know that it will be a 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder that will be coupled with a 135 hp electric motor. The total power will be around 240 hp. This is the power that guarantees respectable performance. On the other hand, we do not know the exact capacity of the battery, although the company claims a maximum range of 31 miles in all-electric mode with a top speed of 81 mpg. We should also mention that the fuel tank has been slightly compressed to make more room for the battery.
Release date and price
Despite the new PHEV version, the Jeep Renegade is unlikely to come much earlier than usual. When it comes to price, base models should cost around €22,000 (Euros). Details about the new PHEV model are still pending. Main competitors should be models like Subaru Crosstrek , Toyota C-HR , Honda HR-V SUV .
