Five colors are expected for the Jeep Wrangler Backcountry: Bright White, Xtreme Purple, Granite Crystal, Black and Hydro Blue. This is the only model in the entire lineup to offer Xtreme Purple.

In terms of interior space, Backcountry is stylish. The controls, gauges and dashboard are sensibly laid out. The interior design offers a distinct throwback feel that is synonymous with the days when car interiors bore the resemblance to fighter jet cockpits. Truth be told, the cabin boasts a bygone era that shouldn’t exist in the modern age.

Rear passengers will no doubt face a difficult task getting in or out due to the low bench which offers cramped foot and knee room. Adults will find long cuts depressing. Thanks to the removable top, nimble drivers can simply climb over the sides rather than face the unpleasant task of entering through the doors.

The Jeep Wrangler Backcountry is a capable off-road machine that can handle any off-road trail. This model offers upgraded suspension systems and numerous configurations that will outshine any SUV you’ve ever owned.

On the pavement, Jeeps – regardless of model – can inspire irritation and laughter, or even a sense of adventure, depending on the setting. Unlike any other SUV for sale today, turning left at an intersection reveals the copious body roll and vaguely slow steering. Ride quality is generally rough. Higher-speed maneuvers are scary, and even without the hardtop, the heavy road noise will drive you crazy.

Other alternatives include the expensive Toyota 4Runner , the Jeep Wrangler Backcountry and Cherokee. You can also consider earlier versions of the Toyota FJ and Nissan Xterra, although these are no longer for sale.

At the end of the day, the only vehicle that commemorates Ike is none other than the Jeep Wrangler Backcountry. Regardless of the quiet and comfortable interior, safer handling and braking, and upscale technology of existing and future competitors, the Jeep will forever be the rugged, iconic off-roader with the ability to go anywhere.
