When it comes to the new Kia Cadenza model, they have done a good job of updating both the interior and exterior of the car. In fact, the model will receive some pretty additions to the exterior and interior but will carry over the powertrain options.

Updating was necessary because Kia is competing against some powerhouses like BMW and Chrysler in the American market. Keeping this car fresh is a necessity and the really competitive full-size sedan segment will not allow manufacturers to rest. You can see from the pictures that they did a great job and we will give you a review to help you better understand these changes. The only thing left is the release date, which we are impatiently waiting for.

When is the release date for the Kia Cadenza planned?

The new Kia Cadenza model was initially unveiled at the New York Auto Show, but no release date was given. The model will first go on sale in the Japanese market this year and will cross the pond next year. So people can expect to get the new Cadenza car in the North American market as early as early .

What will be the Kia Cadenza price?

It has been estimated that the update for the Kia Cadenza model will increase the price by about €3,000 (Euros). The base MSRP rate has not been officially set, but based on these estimates, we see a potential price of around $37,000.

What are the Kia Cadenza exterior updates?

What they have done for the exterior design of the Kia Cadenza is a very intriguing design. The initial concept envisions a very aggressively designed car, but the outgoing model will not be as aggressive as the renderings. So it will actually focus on the simplicity of the straight line, which is the philosophy behind the design. Therefore, the model is constructed by a single straight line that runs the entire length of the vehicle, giving us a sleek, coupe-like profile.

The front end has a redesigned “tiger nose” grille with sharper edges. It comes with either a “diamond butterfly” mesh for the lower trims or a “gravure” layout with vertical blades for the upper trims. The front fascia also has Z-shaped lighting signatures on the bumper and large LED daytime running lights.

The rear has a massive bumper with some other new highlights. It will also add a trapezoidal license plate recess, slim taillights with Z-shaped LEDs and large exhaust outlets. Some chrome accents have been added for the side windows while the B and C pillars have been blacked out for a pillar-less look. The car also uses 18-inch wheels as standard and 19-inch wheels as an option.

What are the Kia Cadenza interior changes?

The interior of the Kia Cadenza has also received new parts. However, the redesigned model includes many parts that have been carried over from the first generation models. The dashboard still has the familiar wraparound design and everything, including the air vents, option panels and the infotainment screen, has been arranged similarly. The difference, however, is that the dashboard has a more cohesive design compared to before and also has an updated infotainment system.

The instrument cluster is new and offers two conventional gauges instead of the large, centrally mounted speedometer. The steering wheel has a new, more modern design with rearranged controls. The luxury has been enhanced with authentic stitching on the dashboard, door trim and diamond-shaped stitching on the seats. The seats have been lowered slightly so that the interior now looks sportier.

Engine specifications

The powertrain of the Kia Cadenza is carried over from its predecessor. The same 3.3-liter V6 engine returns and produces 290 horsepower, which is a drop of 3 horsepower compared to the previous model. People might have expected 300 horsepower output, but instead a lighter platform has been used to make the car behave similarly as if the power has been improved. This time, Kia’s first FWD-based eight-speed will be offered, which will replace the automatic six-speed.

0-62 mph per hour acceleration

Since all the information for the Kia Cadenza’s powertrain has not been released, the 0-100 km per hour performance has yet to be officially released. Based on current estimates, we are looking at a potential of 6 seconds needed to reach 100 km per hour, while the top speed will remain at a governor-limited level of 148 mph.

Fuel consumption specifications

The same goes for the Kia Cadenza’s fuel economy. It has been said that consumption will be similar, making the new Cadenza a car with some pretty reliable fuel economy rates. It will likely produce an EPA rating of around 20 mpg city driving and 28 mpg highway with a combined rating of 23 mpg. These may not seem all that cheap, but it is a standard fuel economy rate for the segment.

Dimensional changes

The car will remain almost the same as the only dimensions for the Kia Cadenza will come for its wheelbase. It will be slightly longer and will result in more legroom and provide more comfort and space to the rear passengers. The length will remain 195.7 inches, the height will be 57.9 inches.

Safety specifications

Since the Kia Cadenza model will be sold in America, it will also be the first Kia model to offer a Drive Wise sub-brand. This also means that the car will offer advanced driver assistance features. These include advanced intelligent cruise control with stop-and-go function, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning and departure warning, and intelligent blind spot detection.

Rivals

The rivals for the new Kia Cadenza will actually be the old rivals. The models that most complete the Cadenza car are the Chrysler 300 and also the BMW 5 Series .
