Kia EV6 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Two weeks after the preliminary presentation, the full-fledged debut of the new electric hatchback Kia EV6 took place. The model is based on the E-GMP platform, which previously formed the basis of the SUV Hyundai Ioniq 5. Technically, the cars are as close to each other as possible.
SUV Kia EV6
The newcomer will be available with several versions of electric motors, rear- and all-wheel drive, two traction battery options. In addition to the basic version, customers will be offered the GT-Line and GT editions, which differ in exterior design and interior equipment.
The assembly of electric cars will take place only in South Korea, where orders for the model have already been received. The cars will appear in the showrooms of local dealers in July. Then the “six” will gradually begin expanding into foreign markets – in Europe, for example, the start of sales is planned for autumn. By 2026, the Koreans expect to produce eleven more electric vehicles that will be sold worldwide.
Body design
The appearance of the Kia EV6 battery hatchback is decided in the new style of Opposites United, playing with the contrast of nature and the creations of mankind. The connection of the emotional with the rational is achieved with the help of simple lines and clear shapes, creating a bold and memorable appearance. At the front, the characteristic “tiger nose” has been replaced by a “digital tiger face” formed by a dynamic light pattern of the navigation lights. The width of the vehicle is emphasized by the long air intake cutout at the bottom of the bumper.
In profile, the electric car has a typical “crossover” silhouette with short overhangs, a large wheelbase and a streamlined roof dome. The steeply inclined C-pillars are fitted with a glossy black insert. In addition to the compact spoiler at the top of the tailgate, there is another wing, the edge of which is decorated with a striking garland of taillights.
With a wheelbase of 2900mm, the standard Kia EV6 is 4680mm long, 1880mm wide and 1550mm high. The GT-Line and GT versions are 15mm longer than the regular hatchback and the G-Ti version is also 5mm lower.
Technologies and equipment
The model’s salon is composed and equipped in keeping with the spirit of the times. At the top of the front panel, which has a horizontal architecture, there are two paired 12.3-inch screens of the tidy and multimedia system. In addition, there is also a head-up display with “augmented reality” that broadcasts navigation instructions and supporting electronics warnings. Climate control and audio are controlled by a block of touch buttons and a pair of rotary knobs under the central vents.
The electric car’s equipment includes Meridian acoustics with 14 speakers, Active Sound Design System (changes the sound depending on the vehicle speed), Remote Smart Parking Assist (allows you to park the car from outside while driving), Highway Track Autopilot of the second level of Driving Assist 2 (provides distance and lane centering). Recycled materials are used inside the Kia EV6 .
The hatchback has two trunks. The main rear compartment has a capacity of 520 liters as standard, and 1300 liters with the backrests of the second row of seats folded down. The front compartment has a volume of 52 liters (rear-wheel drive) or 20 liters (all-wheel drive).
Specifications
The EV6 and EV6 GT-Line models in the basic version of the Standard Range receive a battery with a capacity of 58 kWh. With rear-wheel drive, the power of a single electric motor is 170 hp. and 350 Nm, in the all-wheel drive configuration the pair of motors produces 235 hp. and 605 Nm. The Long Range versions are equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery. In this case, rear-wheel drive cars have a power of 228 hp. and 350 Nm, with a whopping – 325 hp. and 605 Nm. The range of the above modifications varies from 380 to 510 km.
The most powerful Kia EV6 GT is equipped as standard with 77.4 kWh high-performance batteries and two electric motors. The front engine produces 218 hp, the rear engine 367 hp. In total, the tandem produces an impressive 585 hp and 740 Nm. This thrust allows the hatchback to sprint to “hundreds” in 3.5 seconds and accelerate to a maximum of 260 km/h. At the same time, a replica of the electronically controlled rear axle differential (electronic limited-slip differential) is available. The G-Ti can travel up to 400 km on a single charge.
The battery energy of the electric car is replenished by connecting it to a household socket or a special DC terminal (voltage 400 or 800 volts). The charging station provides a mileage of 100 km in 4.5 minutes and restores the capacity by 80% in 18 minutes. Thanks to V2L technology, external devices with a power of up to 3.6 kW can be powered from the on-board network in the future. In addition, it is allowed to connect another car to charge its battery.
Increased range of the hatchback is provided by the brake energy recuperation system, which is controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. The driver can freely choose between six modes – None, 1, 2, 3, i-PEDAL and Auto Mode. When the i-PEDAL program is activated, recuperation is maximum and smooth braking is achieved by simply releasing the accelerator pedal.
Price Kia EV6
Of course, everyone is interested in the price. In stock, the Kia EV6 is estimated at 40,000 euros, the Longe Range equipment costs 10,000 euros more. The hottest modification with the GT prefix – 65,000 euros. It is, of course, expensive, but the same Audi e-tron GT in the base costs 99,800 euros, which is twice the starting price of the EV6.
