New releases from Kia
Kia has been pretty quiet about news in the automotive sector. However, things are set to change this year with the launch of new cars!
There is speculation that the South Korean is preparing to launch a new SUV. However, no confirmed data or information about the vehicle is available yet.
With this in mind, in this article we have compiled three models of the brand that will receive new generations and updates. Next, you can see the launches of the Kia :
1 – Hyundai i30 2020
First of all, the new Kia Cerato is the first launch for this year. Although the automaker does not yet have a firm launch date here in Europe, it has already released some key details.
With this in mind, the aesthetic part of the interior has been completely redesigned . The car has become even more comfortable and safer for the driver and passengers.
Also inside we can say that it is full of technology that gives the Cerato greater efficiency. For example, the new dual-zone air conditioning, the multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
In addition, a 2.0-liter flex engine with four cylinders and 16 valves is expected. In addition, we will also see the dual CVVT technology.
The engine of the new Cerato delivers a maximum power of up to 157 hp and a maximum torque of 19.2 kgfm with petrol. However, with ethanol it reaches 167 hp and a maximum torque of 20.6 kgfm
2 – Kia Sportage
Kia’s second release in brings the new generation of the Sportage SUV. Now, in addition to the new wheels, the car features all-LED lighting and also a revised logo.
There have been several changes to the interior of the vehicle to give the SUV model more utility. For example, the new screens, the steering wheel and even the seats, which are now more comfortable for the driver and passengers.
Finally, the new Kia Sportage offers three driving options that can deliver unique performance, allowing the driver to use them in the situations where they need them.
In addition, the model will be accompanied by a 2.0 Nu engine with Flex technology. We will also see dual variable valve timing and electronic indirect fuel injection.
Initial tests have shown that the new engine can deliver a maximum torque of 18.8 kgfm and a maximum power of 156 hp. This is with petrol.
Powered by ethanol, the engine delivers around 167 hp and a maximum torque of 20.2 kgfm. And all this with the replacement of the automatic transmission for a better driving experience.
3 – Hyundai EV6
Last but not least, our list of Kia launches brings an electric powertrain that moves the segment: the Kia EV6 !
Production of the new electric vehicle will initially be concentrated entirely in South Korea, and the model is already being sold in advance in Europe. The first units are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of the year.
Thus, the Kia EV6 is the first of a series of seven electric cars that the brand promises by 2027. It has 77 kWh batteries positioned on the floor of the car.
These supply power to the electric motor under the rear axle, which drives the rear wheels exclusively. This means there is around 229 hp of power and 35.7 kgfm of torque.
Finally, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 183 km/h.
As you can see, the next Kia vehicles are likely to bring the South Korean back into the game after a few quiet years on the market.
