Kia Sedona 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

With the new Kia Sedona , the Japanese automaker gives us a model that represents a very good alternative to some other brands in the segment. In fact, the Sedona has never been a bad car and has always been one of the most popular options when it comes to the segment, but with the new offering we get more than we expected, at the same price. It is a very viable alternative to what other brands offer, but at a much lower price.

People are going to love this car and if we are to judge by the reactions we have received from the pictures alone, we will expect something much bigger. The news has spread very quickly and there is so much new to learn about the model. But we are basing our evaluation not only on rumors and spy photos, but also on hard-earned facts.

The highlight of the refresh for the Sedona will be a better infotainment system, which will be an upgrade from the last one, as well as enhanced safety that improves on the rating it received previously. The base Sedona is still the L trim, but in addition to the entry-level, you can still shop between LX, EX, SX, and top out at SXL trims.

When is the release date planned?

It seems that the release date of the latest Kia Sedona is just around the corner. The model is likely to be offered soon and we see an early release coming at the end of the year. People can already make plans for their orders and purchases as it will be on sale soon.

How much does the Kia Sedona cost?

As we said, the Kia Sedona will perhaps be the most cost-effective car in this segment, offering us much more than other cars at a lower price. The starting L trim costs €26,900 (Euro) as the base MSRP price. The LX costs €28,900 (Euro), the EX €33,600 (Euro), the SX €36,900 (Euro) and the SX-L €41,900 (Euro).

Typical exterior style for a minivan

It’s hard to argue with the styling of the Kia Sedona as it’s essentially a minivan. These aren’t as attractive and you can hardly argue with that. These cars have more to do with their use than the actual styling and it’s true. There have been some improvements here though. There are some thoughtful touches like a cleaner LED running light on the front end, some swept back headlights, a more upright version of the Kia grille and it all manages to make the vehicle seem much classier. The profile is identical to before and you can’t really argue with them keeping it as it’s probably impossible to innovate here.

Well, we can’t really say that the improvements for the interior of the Kia Sedona are massive, but there are still updates compared to last time. They still keep the dash uncluttered and the instrument panel is laid out horizontally. Some would say it’s a bit boring because it’s standard in some ways, but it works. Added to that are some improvements for the trim with piano black trim and two-tone schemes that break up the landscape a bit and keep things interesting. The higher trim levels will come with soft-touch materials and some details borrowed from some higher-end Kia models.

Drivetrain

Even though the Kia Sedona was not expected to have a performance-oriented engine, like most minivans, this engine does not disappoint, but it does not inspire either. What it does do, however, is provide just the right amount of necessary thrust for the vehicle that needs it. Thus, under the hood we find a 3.3-liter V6 engine that produces 276 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic, which may be an aged product, since the car should soon use a different source. The model will be a front-wheel drive only vehicle, as many already are in this segment. However, one advantage of the car is its towing capacity, which is up to 3,500 pounds.

0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed

Even with this engine on board, the Kia Sedona manages to achieve some pretty satisfactory rates. Its acceleration ability allows it to reach 100 km per hour from a standstill in just 7.4 seconds, while a top speed of 122 mph is claimed.

Has fuel consumption improved?

The Kia Sedona’s fuel economy is pretty similar compared to last year, but it manages to improve slightly. Basically, most Sedona trims get an EPA rating of 18 mpg city, 24 highway, 20 combined. The SX models are rated at 18/25/21 mpg, while the SXL version has a score of 7/22/19 mpg. All in all, it’s not bad for the segment, but we wouldn’t mind an improvement either.

Dimensions and size

The size is one of the advantages of owning a Kia Sedona. This is a minivan with the main goal of transporting people from one point to another so it works as it promises. The dimesons have not changed from the previous car and the full length is kept at 201.4 inches, wheelbase 120.5 inches, height 68.5 inches and width 78.1 inches. The curb weight is also at 4772 lb.

Some improved safety ratings

The Kia Sedona will not only inherit the safety ratings of its predecessor, but will also evolve them. In fact, the Sedona is only one of the two minivan models to receive an IIHS Top Safety Pick, and thanks to its advanced safety features, it managed it. The new version will expand on these, offering standard Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and a rearview camera. Also offered will be some surround-view cameras, offering more attention to the outside of the car than before. And let’s not forget the already common standard of airbags and stability control systems.

What does the competitor offer?

In terms of what we can expect from the Kia Sedona’s competition, it’s actually a standard set. There are no innovations that would make a car extravagant and give it a significant advantage. The models featured here are the Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, Nissan Quest, Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey .
