Kia Soul 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

New spy photos have revealed that the Kia Soul will be a design version. Since the second-generation model debuted in 2014, we haven’t expected the third-generation cars to hit the market for quite some time.

But since we saw the pictures of a camouflaged Soul car that were released, we immediately investigated it and found that it is indeed a design that is being prepared for the year . Frankly, we don’t need a next-gen car so soon and it would be almost impossible to make it, but an updated version can sometimes do wonders for sales.

The current styling of the Kia Soul does not provide us with any solid evidence. What we can see is that the car features a lot of camouflage, covering most of the front end of the car. Although much of it is covered, there is still a lot of speculation and assumption about what the car will look like. We have even seen some renderings suggesting the new possible appearance for the Kia Soul model.

As with any car covered in camouflage and the spy photos that surface, there are a lot of assumptions. Some of them are valid and some of them end up not being true. There is still a long way to go before the car is released so a lot of things can happen between now and then. We will continue to investigate this matter but until then, here is the review.

Possible release date for the Kia Soul

As for the release date of the Kia Soul, the model is not officially confirmed yet, but the readiness of the mule car makes us believe that the most suitable and also possible time for the release of this car must be the first quarter of .

Prices for the Kia Soul

The price of the Kia Soul will be more or less similar to the current model. The starting price for the base version is €15,190 (Euro), while the “+” trim level will cost €18,690 (Euro), with the “Range!” trim being offered at $20,790.

Exterior details

The images show us a Kia Soul test mule completely covered in black camouflage. The front and rear ends are likely the biggest parts of the car to undergo changes, and while we can’t see most of it, we know those parts will be different than they are now.

The fog lamps are positioned higher and set slightly apart. There is a possibility that the grille will be split horizontally and change things up a bit. The headlights will come with minor changes and will mainly look the same.

The side view of the car suggests a car with some toned down wheel arches. The fake air vents of the current model have also been removed, with the side mirrors being the same design but positioned higher. The window between the rear door and the hatch has thicker padding, meaning it is larger.

The rear will not see many changes. The rear section only tampers with the taillights, which still have a similar design, but the entire hatch looks mostly similar compared to the outgoing model.

Interior changes and styling

The interior of the Kia Soul probably won’t have many changes. We expect the model to have roughly the same features, so we can expect the same dashboard and center console parts. There will likely be room for the 4.3-inch TFT display and an updated infotainment system, but we expect the screen to be updated for the higher trim levels.

The current car already looks very sleek. The seats may change a little to offer more comfort and possibly softer materials. Since we are getting a larger glass section for the rear, different upholstery for the rear of the car is also being considered.

Drivetrain Capability

We suspect that the Kia Soul will likely carry over the current engine lineup. But there are also some statements that say we’ll get at least one new engine choice and an updated shifter. If the old engine lineup is used, we can expect a 1.6-liter engine for the base version that produces 120 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque. The mid-range is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission is available for both versions.

0-62 mph per hour acceleration

The current powertrain options allow the Kia Soul to achieve a 0-62 mph time of 6.5 seconds. This is of course if the engine choices remain the same. But for the most part, we think acceleration will likely be similar even with new engine offerings. The top speed for the current model is 125 mph.

Fuel consumption rating

The current version of the Soul isn’t as fuel-efficient as you’d think, but the Kia Soul could address those things. Depending on what body changes they can squeeze in, they would reduce wind resistance and make the car much more fuel-efficient. For now, though, it’s much easier to believe that the new-generation model will bring more body changes. So the version could include similar aspects related to the EPA rating, so expect it to be in the 25 MPG city, 30 highway, 27 combined range that the base engine had, or 25/30/27 MPG for the larger secondary engine.

Dimensions change

As mentioned, the Kia Soul will not make any drastic body changes, and that includes the dimensions. Keeping the dimensions the same is a good idea for now, and designing will not take those into account. We can expect the car to get bigger in the further future, but not now. The new car will be 163.0 inches long, with a wheelbase of 101.2 inches, a width of 70.9 inches, and a height of 63.5 inches. This translates to a curb weight of 3202 lb, or an interior volume of 97 cu ft, and a cargo space of 24 cu ft.

What are the security features?

The Kia Soul will likely inherit the good safety ratings its predecessor had. The current model performed excellently in both federal and IIHS crash tests, earning an overall rating of 5 stars and a “Good” grade. We expect the facelifted version to get the same results, as it hasn’t changed as much structurally. The model will also carry over the six airbags with dual front airbags, seat-mounted side bags and full-length side curtain bags. Also included are the anti-lock brakes, brake assist, hill start assist and electronic stability control.

List of competing cars

The facelifted 2016 Kia Soul will face the same competition as the previous model. In fact, the closest rivals this time will be the Chevy Trax and the Honda HR-V , with the latter also suspected of receiving its own updated version for the coming year.
