Lexus LX 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Lexus’ flagship Lexus LX SUV will debut soon with an upgraded interior and a fully modernized platform with a twin-turbo engine. Based on the new Toyota Land Cruiser , which unfortunately isn’t sold in Europe, the LX takes off-road capability seriously but doesn’t skimp on luxury.
SUV Lexus LX
The previous generation model featured a stout V-8 engine under the hood, but we expect the to make do with a twin-turbo V-6. All-wheel drive will likely remain standard. When it comes to the LX’s interior, we expect Lexus to pull out all the stops to compete with more modern large luxury SUVs like the BMW X7 , Land Rover Range Rover and Mercedes GLS-Class .
What’s new ?
Following the last generation’s 13-year run, the Lexus LX is getting a major redesign. We expect Lexus to unveil the new SUV in late and begin deliveries in early .
Conventionally, the new LX will likely cost more than the outgoing model. Lexus hasn’t released any information on the SUV’s standard and optional features, but we found a trademark filing for the LX600 name that suggests the large SUV will wear that badge when it goes on sale. The last-generation LX was offered in both two- and three-row configurations; we see no reason why Lexus would change that.
Engine, transmission and performance
In all likelihood, the LX600 will debut with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and standard all-wheel drive. This powertrain was introduced in the new Toyota Land Cruiser, which shares its mechanical underpinnings with the LX. In the Land Cruiser, the engine produces a hefty 409 horsepower; we expect the same in the Lexus. Given Toyota ‘s penchant for hybrid powertrains, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a gas-electric setup under the hood of the LX, similar to the one used in the Tundra pickup truck.
