Lexus RX 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

If you’re wondering why the Japanese manufacturer didn’t rush into redesigning its iconic midsize crossover, the answer is pretty simple. Although it’s been around since 2016, the current generation is still by far the most popular luxury SUV in the segment.

SUV Lexus RX

For comparison: Lexus RX is twice as popular as its closest competitors BMW X5 and Mercedes Benz GLE . That’s why the current generation will continue unchanged for a few more years. A complete redesign is expected for the Lexus RX .

At this point, we don’t know too many details about the next-generation model. Still, some things, such as the platform, are pretty easy to predict. Otherwise, we can only speculate. However, we have no doubt that the Japanese manufacturer will not take any risks with this model. It will most likely only bring evolutionary changes, although we expect a lot of new technologies, especially in terms of the powertrain.

Redesign

The only thing we know for sure about the next-generation Lexus RX is probably the platform. Without a doubt, the new model will switch to the TNGA architecture, which will bring many improvements. With a significantly lower center of gravity, the new model will undoubtedly offer significantly better driving characteristics. Still, we don’t expect the company to change the character of the model too much. This model will continue to be mainly about comfort, while things like sporty handling and the responsive ride will not be as much of a focus.

Design

When it comes to exterior design, the first thing that comes to mind is size. The current model is one of the smallest in the segment, especially in terms of wheelbase. The three-row version is also not particularly large and does not offer exceptional functionality. Therefore, we expect the new model to be a bit larger and this time the three-row version should have a significantly longer wheelbase. The base model, on the other hand, is unlikely to be significantly larger.

Of course, new styling is another thing we’re eagerly awaiting. The current model still looks pretty impressive and we have no doubt that Lexus engineers will continue to do a good job. We expect a new iteration of the brand’s famous spindle grille with an even more distinctive layout and probably even sharper lines. Still, the overall shape probably won’t change too much, at least in the case of the standard two-row cars .

Inner

The cabin will of course be completely new too. We expect a lot of inspiration to be taken from the new NX, although luxury should be taken to the next level. We expect the Japanese manufacturer to implement the new tech features, including a new infotainment screen and system. What we particularly like about the NX is that the entire center stack is more focused on the driver, while still retaining a decent number of physical controls.

The standard two-row model is unlikely to feature any major changes in terms of size. The passenger compartment will remain similar, although probably a bit larger. On the other hand, we would like to see a bit more cargo space. Bigger improvements are expected from the three-row model, which should feature a significantly longer wheelbase, giving passengers in the third row more room. We also expect more cargo space behind the third row, as the current model has almost nothing to offer in that area.

Of course, the new cabin should come with a full range of standard equipment, especially new tech features. We have already mentioned the new infotainment screen, while the number of tech features will certainly be impressive, as has always been the case with this model.

Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, only a hybrid version is certain. At this point, we don’t know the details, but we assume the new system would be more powerful than the current one, which is based on a 3.5-liter V6. We believe the same engine could be used for the next generation, while the rest of the setup (read: electric motors and battery) would be significantly upgraded. On the other hand, the future of the pure gasoline version is yet to be decided. We assume Lexus will offer such a version for the next generation as well, and it probably won’t differ much from the current 295-horsepower model. Finally, rumors have started to emerge about the all-electric version. At this point, officials are still quiet.

Release date and price

We believe that the all-new Lexus RX will be launched sometime in the second half of . In terms of price, the base models are likely to be a little closer to the €42,000 (Euro) mark.
