Ford introduces its redesigned Lincoln MKZ model. Ford’s luxury subsidiary brand has been trying to compete against the giants of the industry for so long, but it has never managed to achieve the recognition and full potential of the German luxury brands.
Lincoln MKZ
They have left the Lincoln MKZ brand in the dust for so many years. The only reason Lincoln has introduced its MK brand is to defy the bigger brands, and that refresh will have to be spectacular if it is to be accomplished.
The Lincoln MKZ redesign was done in such a way that we don’t really see it as a redesign. It’s more of a styling and includes parts of the design that was introduced with the 2013 concept model.
The folks from Lincoln also said that with the launch of this car, they are introducing a car that updates all the key components of a luxury brand, so we are confident about what we will achieve with the MKZ model. This new Lincoln MKZ will raise the bar in terms of equipment offered, while addressing the comfort and utility of the interior while adding safer and more appropriate equipment to make the car safe for the people driving in it. A more luxurious offering is even complemented by the Black Label interior package that brings a lot more to the new vehicle.

When is the release date of the MKZ?
The arrival of the Lincoln MKZ is expected at the end of the year. The announcement that this car is ready is just around the corner. Price list
A statement has already been made regarding the price of the Lincoln MKZ. In fact, they have already released the price list of all the latest MKZ trim models that will be coming out. However, there will be certain variations as the model will offer different powertrains and also additional packages, not to mention different trims. All of these will affect the price range for the future MKZ, and the base version will start at $35,010, while the base MSRP of the highest version will be $45,400.
Exterior redesign
Certain changes have been made to the exterior appearance of the Lincoln MKZ. There are now adaptive LED headlights, with the fog lights replaced by slimmer ones, but the biggest difference is the design of the new single-frame grille with new chrome accents around the fog lights and lower air vents.
The side of the car is the same as the 2013 concept and it retains the lower body line that runs between the wheels. The rear is also identical to the concept version with small LED taillights and an LED bar that runs along the deck between the lights. The lip on the deck remains, as does the high-mounted brake light.
Interior
The improvements inside the Lincoln MKZ actually make a huge difference to the car. It updates the luxury and gives us all the new features inside. The most obvious change was the smoothness of the switches and buttons, which are now much easier to use and operate. So we can now operate the audio and ventilation controls much easier.
Added to this is a floating center console that provides additional storage space for passengers inside. They have also replaced the traditional lever with a push-button switch that makes the cabin more open and allows for more space and maneuvering. The infotainment system has been updated with a large touchscreen display that includes navigation and smartphone connectivity.
Drivetrain selection
For the Lincoln MKZ car, there will be a choice of three engines. You can choose between the 2.0-liter GTDI EcoBoost, a four-cylinder, a 2.0-liter Atkinson hybrid engine or a 3.7-liter V6 with 24 valves. The first produces 188 hp, the middle one with 240 hp, the last one with 300 hp. This year will also add a 3.0-liter GTDI V-6, which will be the top-rated engine version, producing 400 hp for the Lincoln MKZ brand.
0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed
According to the latest information, the ability of the Lincoln MKZ to accelerate up to 0-62 mph per hour is estimated to be achievable in 6 seconds. This is something that has not been officially confirmed, but is quite possible given the engine selection. The top speed will likely remain at 155 mph.
What is fuel consumption?
The Lincoln MKZ’s fuel economy is unlikely to be updated. We’ll get the same 17 mpg city driving and 26 mpg highway as before. While the numbers aren’t as great as you’d hope, the updates and changes will likely come at some point for the model’s further generations.
Dimensions of the Lincoln MKZ
As the statement says, the Lincoln MKZ will not change dimensions. This may happen in the next generation models or in a more extensive update, but for now the car maintains the same characteristics as before. The model is 193.9 cm long, has a wheelbase of 112.2 cm, a width of 73.4 cm and a height of 58.1 cm.
Curb weight will likely remain similar too, as there have been no changes that would either improve or worsen it. Expect numbers of 4307 lb. Passenger volume is 99 cu ft, while cargo capacity offers 15 cu ft.
Safety equipment
The Lincoln MKZ comes with some newly offered safety systems. These include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, which can slow and increase cruising speeds as needed under given traffic conditions.
For this version, enhanced parking assistance will also be added, updating the last one. It will also add a pre-collision system that will help us avoid frontal collisions and will add the ability to detect pedestrians and react accordingly.
Competitors
The luxury segment will be happy to welcome the newly updated Lincoln MKZ, but there will still be some well-behaved vehicles waiting here. We will see a high level of competitors when it comes to offering these cars , and such models as the Lexus ES , Audi A4 , Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class , and even the BMW 3 Series will make this segment very crowded.
