It took a long time, but the Maserati Levante model has finally been unveiled. Maserati had unveiled its Kubang concept car some time ago, in 2011 in fact, and it was the announcement of the Levante. But back then, the Levante name didn’t exist.

Only when the car reached its production version was the name fixed on the current one. All in all, we were finally able to see the Maserati Levante model in all its glory at the Geneva Motor Show.
The exterior of the Levante has been designed to put most of the SUV crossover segment to shame. With brilliant design on the outside comes very good styling on the inside as well. The interior is unmistakably a Maserati product, bringing both the design and technology of previous models Maserati has produced.
With the release of the Levante car, Maserati hopes to enter the SUV crossover segment in style. They also have a plan to increase sales and sell at least 50,000 units. Some people think this is very possible, others say it is unlikely, especially because the current model is a little different from what Maserati usually offers, but maybe that is exactly what they need.

When is the release date for the Maserati Levante?
The latest Maserati Levante has already been shown at the Geneva Motor Show and we can expect the model to be available for sale soon. The car is in full swing and is expected to be released in mid-2017.
What is the potential price of the Maserati Levante?
The prices for the latest Maserati Levante have recently been released. It will be released in two versions in the US market, the base version costs €72,000 (Euro) and the S version costs €83,000 (Euro). Also offered are three packages, the Sport Package, the Luxury Package and the Zegna Edition Package.
A traditional Maserati, but still a modern design
The latest Maserati Levante of looks and feels like a Maserati, but there are some additional elements that change the structure a bit. The front end of the car seems to be inspired by the Alfieri concept with the new grille and some air intakes in the lower fascia. The new “cat-shaped” bi-xenon headlights with optional daytime LEDs as well as LEDs for the indicators.
From the profile of the car, we see three side air vents just above the front wheel arches. A trapezoidal C-pillar is used while the roofline slopes gently, giving us a coupe-like styling. Added to this are frameless doors and a variety of wheels. Along with the standard 18-inch doors, there are the 19-inch doors that come as standard on top-of-the-range models and 20-inch and 21-inch designs available on the upper trims as optional.
The look of the rear of the car is immensely improved thanks to the bulging rear fender. LED taillights are wrapped into the flanks and a trailing roof spoiler protrudes from the rear window. The rear end features some rounded lines and there is a quad exhaust pipe at the bottom.
Known inside the Maserati Levante
If the interior of the Maserati Levante looks a little familiar, it’s because they’ve taken some cues from their other sedan versions. The layout and styling are almost identical, apart from the large dimensions and size of course. There are various controls in terms of buttons and knobs that help with drive modifications and air suspension. High on the dashboard is an analog clock, flanked by wood, carbon and aluminum trim. The roof itself is lined with Alcantara
Leather upholstery is standard, and a higher-quality hide is used on top models. Front passengers have solid lateral support with six-way electric adjustability, while passengers get four-way manual adjustment. Electric memory functions are also offered as an option.
There are also updated infotainment features that include app support, HomeLink and AHA functionality. The car will come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, auxiliary, USB and SD card inputs and a 7-inch diver display as standard. A 14-speaker Harman Kardon unit and a top-of-the-range 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround system are available as options.
Selection of multiple engines
It’s nice to know that the Maserati Levante offers a variety of powertrains to choose from. We have a total of three engines to choose from. All of them are 3.0-liter six-cylinders and they include twin-turbo gas units or single-turbo diesels. The fastest is used for the S trim and gives us 430 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 428 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. The non-S Levante engine produces 350 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm, while the Levante diesel can reach 275 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 443 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Each of the specified engines is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF.
Top speed and 0-62 mph per hour
Based on the Maserati Levante’s engine and trim level, acceleration specs will differ. The most powerful S Levante can jump to 100 km per hour in just 5.2 seconds and also reaches a top speed of 164 mph. The mid-range version does this in 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 156 mph, while the diesel variant makes it to 100 km per hour from a standstill in 6.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 143 mph.
Fuel consumption values for the new car
It seems that the Maserati Levante will be quite economical with what it can offer. The S trim consumes 10.9 liters/100km. The mid-range non-S trim is expected to consume 10.7 liters/100km, while the diesel variant is rated at 7.2 liters/100km, and is the most lucrative and economical as it was expected.
Dimensions and size of the Maserati Levante
The size of the Maserati Levante production version has not changed much from its concept. When the Kubang concept was first revealed, people assumed that many changes would be made to the final product, but in fact, the size was almost maintained and the car has the same characteristics. The overall size is 196.96 inches with a width of 77.48 inches and a height of 66.10 inches, the wheelbase is 118.26 inches.
High-tech protection
The latest Maserati Levante is sure to feature some advanced safety features. The model will add the use of adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, forward collision warning, adaptive high beam headlights, brake pressure assist, lane departure warning, a surround-view camera, hill descent assist, automatic wipers, a blind-spot monitor and parking sensors. These are all advanced pieces of equipment, of course, but we can’t forget that the Levante will also carry six airbags.
Competitors
With the latest version of the Maserati Levante, the segment is being retooled a bit and there is a possibility that some changes will occur. Maserati has the idea of achieving much greater sales, which at first seems unlikely, mainly due to the other vehicles in the segment and also due to the fact that it is a new car, so you can’t really know how fans will react to it. Overall, among the most competitive vehicles are the Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X6 model , which will be difficult to beat in terms of sales.
