Mazda 3 2025: Price, consumption, interior, picture.

Surprisingly fast, but we will soon get the fourth generation Mazda 3 version. Since the Mazda 3 model made record-breaking sales, the Japanese designers decided to put more effort into this car and get us more out of the model than previously expected. The model reached its peak with its third generation automobile launched in 2013, which established the nameplate in the current compact market.

Mazda3

The Mazda 3 was originally developed in 2003 and did not show as much promise as it had in the past. The third generation model was groundbreaking for them as it represented much more than expected. After that, the car was given a mid-life refresh for the 2016 model year and it is currently the outgoing model we see now. But they are not resting on their laurels as the next generation is already in the planning stages.

Wish the launch of the RX-Vision concept, this car is expected to inspire a handful of vehicles in Mazda’s future lineup. The Mazda 3 is one of them and will also likely be the first model to use it. At the moment, there are no spy photos or leaked images, but there are some renderings inspired by the recent revolutionary design and engineering that Mazda is using and will surely be used to make this car. Since little is known about the price and release date, we have put together a review that might help you learn more about the latest model that will be on the way sooner than we think.

When is the release date for the Mazda 3?

It is still difficult to say or predict when the actual release of the Mazda 3 will be. The model is currently in development, we are aware of that, but the car will not arrive for at least a year. In fact, we expect it to be offered either in mid- or at the end of this year. We hope it comes for the first predicted period.

What could the price be?

It might be early to say how much the Mazda 3 would cost. For reference, we can use the MSRP price of the current four-door sedan, which starts at $17,845, and the four-door hatchback, which retails at $18,545. The latest version of the Mazda 3 will be close to those prices, but will inevitably cost a bit more.

What will the Mazda 3 look like?

Based on recent announcements, the Mazda 3 will mostly use the design of the latest RX-Vision concept. However, we don’t expect all of the aggressive details of the concept to actually make it to the production car, but some of them are certainly possible. First, the grille and a similar design of the headlights will be present for the latest car. But the grille will likely be toned down with horizontal slats instead of a honeycomb mesh. Below, we expect some wide and sleek side intakes.

The side of the car will get the same type of fender vent as on the concept, but will use a slightly revised roofline and also a new wheel design. The rear will also adopt slimmer taillights that fit very well with the overall sporty design of the vehicle. We also believe that blacked-out paneling will be available on the more expensive trims.

A newly designed interior

We’re also looking at a completely redesigned interior of the Mazda 3. It will run right along the lines of the good-looking exterior, but will see some notable changes compared to the concept car. We expect a revised layout of the controls with more modern styling. There will be a larger infotainment screen that will be integrated into the dashboard. A new center console will offer more storage space, a new steering wheel, and a redesigned instrument cluster.

It is also said that they plan to improve comfort, which will likely be done by adding better front and rear seats. There are also plans to add more shoulder, leg and headroom. Also, the latest car will be much closer to a premium segment, so we expect it to launch with all the present features upgraded to higher levels. This means aluminum trims, two-tone leather upholstery in the top versions, as well as additions like the company’s latest technology. Expect improved navigation, a new audio system and more connectivity.

Can we expect new powertrain options?

It’s safe to say that the Mazda 3 will be powered by a small-displacement four-cylinder engine. No official word has been spoken for this car, but the prediction is for possible 1.5-, 2.0- and 2.5-liter powerplants as petrol versions, with the smaller one being offered in the European market and the latter in the Europe. But if they are to include a diesel variant, we’re likely looking at a revamped version of the current 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine. Alongside the engines, new transmission options will be introduced, with the six-speed automatic replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch unit.

0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed

Unfortunately, since they haven’t decided on the Mazda 3’s engine yet, it’s still difficult to make a prediction about top speed. That news will likely be available soon and we expect it to be announced shortly. Here’s where you’ll find out first, and also the choice for the powertrain. For reference, the outgoing does 0-62 mph in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 132 mph.

Improved fuel consumption

The newest Mazda 3 is likely to offer us better fuel economy than the current one. The outgoing version makes 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, but there are some predictions that say the new Mazda 3 could be able to do 40 mpg highway, which would be interesting to see.

Possible dimensional changes

There was an announcement that initially said that the Mazda 3 will keep the same size and proportions as the outgoing model. However, it was later revealed that this could change and that the car could actually be a little longer and a little wider this time around. This could be an opportunity for the Mazda 3 to offer more interior space with this new model.

Security packages

Safety packages for the Mazda 3 will be improved. For now, however, we can confirm that we’ll have the standard set carried over from the current car. We mean lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and Mazda Smart Braking System, a form of automated braking assist, which will be available on this car.

Which rivals can we expect?

The compact segment is very lucrative these days and the Mazda 3 has to pick up where its predecessor left off. To be the best you also have to leave rivals behind and in this case the Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus are next. It may not be easy but since the Mazda 3 managed to pull it off before they might be able to do it again.
