British carmaker McLaren has set a goal to launch a fleet of all-electric vehicles and is making an impressive start with Aonic electric vehicles.

What’s new?

The McLaren Aonic EVs are McLaren’s first fully electric supercar. It’s a significant departure from their previous petrol-powered models, and shows that McLaren is capable of competing in an electric future.

Design and performance

The McLaren Aonic EVs will be built in a futuristic design inspired by the McLaren Speedtail. With a length of 4.95 meters and a width of 2.10 meters, the vehicle can accommodate up to four passengers. The body is made of carbon fiber, which reduces the weight of the car while increasing its strength. The Aonic EVs is powered by two electric motors that together produce 750 hp. The car is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of over 350 km/h.

Range and battery performance

Aonic electric vehicles are equipped with a battery with a capacity of at least 120 kWh, which provides a range of up to 500 km; depending on driving style, the range can increase to up to 700 km. At a DC fast-charging station, the car should be able to be charged to up to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

The interior of the Aonic EV will be minimalistic and focused on the essentials. The dashboard will be located across the entire dashboard of the car, which will display all the important information about the car and control all the functions. The car will also be equipped with an advanced audio system developed by Bang & Olufsen.

Safety and driver assistance functions

Aonic electric vehicles will also be equipped with a range of safety and driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking, as well as many other safety features, the full package of which we will know when we go global.

Warranty and maintenance

McLaren offers a three-year warranty on the Aonic EVs. The company has also announced that it will set up a dedicated electric vehicle department to ensure that Aonic EV customers always receive the best service.

Price

The price of Aonic electric vehicles has not yet been announced. However, due to its advanced technology and performance, the car is not expected to be cheap, but we expect a starting price of at least 150,000 euros.
