Mercedes AMG S63 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
You will love the feeling of luxury and loads of gadgets in the new Mercedes AMG S63 . The current model has been here for 3 years and we don’t want it anymore. We need a better interior and a new engine. Will we get one? Will the interior be better and will the Mercedes change anything on the outside?
When is the release date of the Mercedes AMG S63?
The release date will most likely be late , and we can’t wait for the day of real “hands-on” review. That will be one of the most beautiful days for us. Maybe not for all the people in the department, but just for me… Why? Well, because I never loved Mercedes until I saw the AMG S63. After that, I saw the E-Class and got hooked. It sits on the shelf of my dreams, right next to the BMW M5 and the Chevrolet Camaro .
The price will not be healthy for anyone. It is a luxury car and intended for rich people with chauffeurs, but it is too much. I think they know its place. Mercedes knows the popularity of its brand and it will never stop evolving. The price will go north from 144,000 € (Euros). And don’t even try to add anything. Your head will explode.
The changes in the exterior
The only clues we have so far are directly tied to the Mercedes AMG S63 breaking down on the road. That’s kind of ironic, getting spy shots of one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year while it’s sitting on the side of the road waiting for a mechanic. Well, the car and the driver aren’t to blame. The battery wasn’t good, but the car was.
There are minor new details and the best part is the lights. Not the shape of the lights or the slightly changed grille, but the technology. As we found out, the new Mercedes AMG S63 will use the new technology for LED Multibeam. It is practically the high-tech version of the high beam. It automatically detects the vehicles ahead, the road type, a road edge, curves on the road and transforms the lights accordingly. If there is a car in front of you, it lowers those parts of the light and illuminates the rest. If it detects that you are on the highway, the outer edge of the beam is lowered so you don’t have to worry about incoming traffic. If there are curves on the road, it follows the curves and illuminates the curves… The future is now.
Large screen of the Mercedes AMG S63 interior
If we are to believe these spy shots, the interior of the Mercedes AMG S63 will be changed in both good and illogical ways. The first is the central screen and instrument display. It will now be a huge screen that will display the infotainment screen and the meter. As usual, the meter will be used for infrared/night vision mode and the central part for media controls, maps, phone connectivity and 360-degree camera view.
The illogical part is on the beautifully cut seats. Or the middle compartment between the front seats. It supposedly has the Maybach symbol. We don’t see the reason for this. The only possible reason is that they had nothing else to put there, so they used something they had at that moment.
Leaving that aside, the interior is one of the nicest things in this car. It feels like being in a luxurious apartment. There are tons of buttons on the side, on each door and in the middle where it should have been the gear lever. Now you have this circular dial for the multimedia. Little strange but bearable
Each of the buttons has its own purpose. Whether you’re using these buttons to move your seat in 20 different directions or to activate some of the massage options available, you simply can’t make a wrong move. Once you take your seat in that seat, you forget the reason you saved that money. You just give it away.
Power inside the new Mercedes AMG S63
Ok, since we mentioned there is no proper gear lever, you have some on your wheel. You can control the gears of this “Formula 1-like” shifter and also control the behavior of your engine. There are 3 different modes: Sport, Manual and Comfort. These options have been carried over from the previous models, but the gear lever is now a 9-speed with the same treatment. This gives this vehicle some acceleration and better transitions, as well as better fuel economy.
AWD will also be standard, which is very odd since we just found out that BMW is implementing AWD on its M5 model as well.
The current 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 will be replaced by the newer version of the same 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This gives the vehicle up to 614 horsepower and 0-100 acceleration in 3.7 seconds. It is a fast car, a sports car, but not a race car. It is a luxurious sports car with drifting capability.
Supposedly there will be the special mode (from the E-class) that will expand the “rebellious” side of you. You can transfer the 90% of the power from the 4WD to the rear wheels and just drift with ease. I don’t know who this option is, but it can’t hurt anyone… or it can…
Verdict
The main competition for the Mercedes AMG S63 can only be found among its relatives. BMW M760Li and BMW M5 XDRIVE accompanied by the famous Audi S8 are the main competitors. You simply cannot compare Mercedes with any eastern or western brand. It is and will be one of the most luxurious brands in the world.
It will continue to use the key features of previous models and build upon them. Every aspect is perfect, but the price is something you would (perhaps) prefer to use on a smaller home.
