Mercedes-Benz CLS 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
Despite all the secrecy, it is more than obvious that the latest Mercedes-Benz CLS is on the way. This car has been rumored to be released for a new generation, and it seems that it could really happen.
Mercedes-Benz CLS
The car has been stalling for an update for some time now and all things point to a new version coming soon. Now that all the requirements are met, the German automaker is working on the design of the car.
The information was confirmed when a test mule was spotted in Germany. The pictures were quickly released and the rumors confirmed. Even with the heavy camouflage, it’s pretty obvious that this is the future CLS-Class, and it’s pretty obvious that they’re basing their design on the current E-Class, borrowing many elements from it.
Some rumors suggested that the car will change the name to CLE-Class with the elements from the E-Class, but these rumors have not been confirmed for now. The latest models will continue with the established name and we will see them released with the CLS insignia.

Mercedes-Benz CLS Release Date
Currently, there are no confirmed indications as to when the Mercedes-Benz CLS will make its debut. The car is fast in the production phase, so they will probably try their best to produce the next-generation CLS models by next year. The release date is expected to be in mid.
What is the potential price of the Mercedes-Benz CLS?
We don’t expect the Mercedes-Benz CLS to be priced lower than the current one, and it may only get higher. The current projected price is around $75,000, while the top trim levels will be around $80,000.
Changes in exterior design
Although the camouflage color of the Mercedes-Benz CLS model looks a little indistinguishable, it is still quite simple, so see what is going on there. The corporate coupe-like design is still there and will be used on this model as well. It will remain the main feature of the car and will have to do with the carried over elements of the E-Class models that we see here. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class recently received a very good refresh and the models there look pretty good, so it was obvious that they would carry over the elements here.
Interior fittings
The new interior of the Mercedes-Benz CLS will be enhanced with some new features. The redesigned car will surely offer redesigned seats for the driver and passengers. We expect a really inviting vehicle this time. The seats are expected to offer adjustable options and we will also expect more space from them.
The standard technological features can only be assumed. However, if we look at some other offerings that Mercedes offers, we can assume that they will add a Mercedes-made Audio 20 CD system, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth audio streaming and the Gracenote music database. The Bang & Olufsen BeoSound sound system was offered as an option last time, which could mean that it will be provided as standard for this version.
Powertrain options
The Mercedes-Benz CLS’s powertrain is also looking to the E-Class model for ideas. It will likely use the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 and produce 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque for the CLS400 version. This will be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. A 4.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine powers the CLS550 and delivers 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. It will most likely come with a 4Matic all-wheel drive version.
Possible 0-62 mph acceleration
The acceleration speed of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class from 0 to 100 km per hour is not yet confirmed, but it seems that it will be faster than last time. The permeable model was able to accelerate to 100 km per hour in 5.5 seconds, so an acceleration similar to that one or slightly faster is expected. Also, the top speed could go beyond the 250 km / h offered in the last version.
Fuel consumption statistics
It’s a bit early to speculate on the fuel economy of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, but the least we can guess is that this model will probably offer similar fuel economy as before. They could try to expand and make it better so they can compete with some already existing cars in this segment, but we don’t see them making too much of an impact for now. The car will have to change drastically to significantly reduce fuel economy, and we’re not sure if that will happen. But we can safely say that it won’t be much worse than what the competition can offer.
Dimensions change
There are no reports yet about the size of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. However, there are hints that the car could be a bit bigger compared to the last version. It will probably grow so that it offers more interior space for the passengers inside. They stated that they will try to provide more comfort and sometimes more comfort just means more space and the current wheelbase of 113.2 inches could expand and add a few more inches.
What are the security features?
The previous model added new safety equipment, so the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class could do the same. The inclusion of Collision Prevention Assist Plus from the last model will likely be updated and offered this time around. Some standard features include adaptive cruise control and other semi-autonomous driving features. These will likely be augmented by advanced safety offerings such as Pre-Safe Brake with pedestrian detection; blind-spot monitors; active lane keeping assist; and active parking assist as well.
Rivals
Many other great cars will be able to compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class models. What is different this time, however, is the outlook of the new CLS-Class. We expect it to have a bigger impact as it may incorporate the best that the E-Class has to offer and will largely influence this car for the better. So the competing vehicles like the Audi A7 and BMW 6 Series will have something to do when this car is released.
