The Mercedes Benz GLC comes unchanged after being designed for this season. The carmaker will prepare some surprises to freshen up the line-up, but no major changes are planned for the upcoming season.

Diesel engines
Power units that use diesel as fuel will be available in three different configurations. The power output will be 160, 190 and 240 hp. The last one can accelerate up to 143 mph and needs 6.5 seconds for 0-62 mph per hour. Again, a 2.0 displacement is the choice of engineers.
Mercedes-Benz GLC-AMG
There are two AMG-branded versions of the compact crossover. Both GLC 43 and GLC 63 were available previously, but the automaker has beefed up the output for the new version. The YM holds 385 hp and 385 lb-ft, which is good for 0-100 acceleration in under 5 seconds. Well, that wouldn’t be possible with a four-cylinder, so Mercedes replaced it with a 3.0L V6.
Another performance-oriented crossover is Mercedes Benz GLC AMG 63. In this case, the hand-built unit is a V8 and explodes for 470 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of twist. Top speed increases and sprint time drops below 4 seconds. As you can imagine, the price is on par with premium full-size SUVs.
Of course, the AMG package brings many unique upgrades to the GLC crossover. Design, there are special grilles, wheels and many other details. Inside, high-quality materials make for a comfortable feel. The compact crossover doesn’t offer too much space in the second row, so if you need it, look at a larger model like the GLE.
GLC advantages and disadvantages
The only downside of all Mercedes products is the price. Apart from that, most other things are ideal or close to perfect. Fuel economy could be better, but you get extra power, especially with V6 and V8 units. Driving modes allow you to choose a type of driving that suits you best. The new MBUX system fixes all the shortcomings of the previous versions. Well, we will have to wait to see the downsides after some time in use. Safety is at the highest level and the quality of materials exceptional. Comfort, convenience, reliability… everything is there. But the high initial cost and the price of optional equipment are the stumbling block for all buyers who find cheaper models.
Prices
The Mercedes Benz GLC costs €42,500 without destination. Some mid-size three-row premium SUVs are just a bit more expensive, so if you need more space, you’ll definitely add around €3,000 for the Lexus RX. The GLC 350e hybrid model costs over €50,000 and the AMG unit is out of sight for all fans, ready to splash less than €60,000. The AMG GLC 63, with a V8 engine, 470 hp and a price of €75,000, is one of the most expensive compact crossovers on the market. In this range, you can get the Infiniti QX80 with a little less power but plenty of space and towing capacity.
