Mini Cooper EV 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The upcoming Mini Cooper EV is a small electric hatchback that will hit dealerships this fall. It’s a cheaper model than most of its competitors. Based on the two-door hardtop Mini Cooper, the electric version still lags behind the competition. Yes, it’s a delightful model with great handling, but its figures aren’t that impressive. The electric range is questionable, because the smaller model comes with a smaller battery.

Mini Cooper EV

For this reason, its price makes Mini Cooper Electric one of the most affordable electric vehicles you can get. On the other hand, this small car comes with a long list of standard features and some premium stuff. Family SUVs have the advantage that smaller Mini Coopers can’t compete with. Still, take a closer look and let us know what you think.

Mini Cooper Electric looks funky

First spy photos of the Mini Cooper EV are available. First of all, this model comes with various body-colored trim and a brand new grille. Instead of a noticeable yellow accent, the front apron now has a subtle “S” letter, finished in the same yellow color. Fog lights are gone and the manufacturer has opted for an additional LED element in the headlights.

The rear section sports LED taillights with a unique accent that is also seen on the Countryman model. As far as we know, Mini will also introduce a Collection Edition in blue and gray colors. In addition, a new multi-colored roof will also be available. Finally, spy shots show new wheels that complete the exterior design.

Interior receives important updates

The upcoming Mini Cooper EV will come with a 5.5-inch digital instrument cluster. This cluster will display range, navigation, battery charge level and some other infotainment information. The subcompact offers dual-zone climate control and a heated steering wheel as standard. The ambient lighting is something new, as are the new color schemes in the interior. Reports say there will be up to six different schemes. It’s a funky cabin design, but the interior space is limited.

The front passengers will be fine, but it’s the rear seats that cause the problem. Getting adults in the back is almost impossible. In terms of technology, Mini Cooper Electric offers a good-looking 8.8-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation. The manufacturer also supplies Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM radio and wireless charging.

Driving Range, Acceleration

The new Mini Cooper EV will produce 181 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. This model uses a front-wheel drive standard and offers a 32.6 kWh battery. However, only 28.9 kWh is usable. This may be a disappointment, but that’s not all. Its acceleration is not that great, including the top speed. The subcompact sprints from 0 to 100 km per hour in 6.1 seconds, which is faster than, for example, the Chevy Bolt EV .

The Cooper model offers regenerative braking modes, which is a first. As for driving range, Cooper Mini offers 110 miles on a full charge. Models like Nissan Leaf and Bolt EV offer more miles. The battery can be charged to 80 percent in 30 minutes. Using a 7.4 kilowatt home charger, a full charge takes about four hours.
