New Audi Q3 2025: Updates and Future Models
The first mid-cycle refresh of the smallest Audi crossover is planned . Until then, the Audi Q3 will remain unchanged. The company launched the current version last year, a model will also come with minor changes. So we can expect the German automaker to pay much more attention to newcomers like the Q1 and Q8 .
SUV-Q3
The Audi Q3 will be on par with its arch-rival BMW X1 . Both crossovers offer only a 2.0-liter turbo engine. It seems like we’ll have to wait a little longer for the company to launch a new powertrain. However, there are other power plants available in Europe and Asia, including diesel and performance-oriented RS models. The disadvantage compared to the main competitor is the lack of a hybrid unit.
Premium and Prestige models are still trim levels for the new crossover, but there are some interesting packages that allow you to upgrade the drive. The good thing is that Quattro AWD is standard across the range.
Engine updates
One of the bad things about the Audi Q3 is the lack of engine options. Well, an existing 2.0-liter turbo-four is quite powerful. However, it’s also very thirsty. With 19 mpg in the city, you’d never guess that Q3 is the subcompact crossover. Design on the open road, the vehicle is more efficient, returning 28 mpg. A 2.0 engine makes 230 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is a power router and the Q3 hits 60 mph in seven seconds.
After the season without an update, we can expect something small for the Audi Q3. One of the options is the new powertrain. The hybrid version based on the E-Tron system should be in competition with the BMW X3 M xDrive25e. Another possibility is a smaller displacement. A 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder is a European engine with 150 horsepower. A 2.0 is also tuned to 180-200 horsepower, while the RS Q3 version is the top of the range with 350 ponies.
The diesel range also offers various configurations for a 2.0-liter displacement. Buyers get 120, 150 or 180 horsepower plus 220, 250 and 280 pound-feet of torque.
Features
The base Q3 is the Premium package with a 10-inch infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. The automaker offers LED lights and intelligent high beams. The same lamps are in taillights. Advanced safety options are available even in the entry-level model. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof and automatic three-zone climate. The S Line package is an available upgrade for this trim.
You can also choose the Premium Plus version with unique DRLs. Plus means safety is at a higher level with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist. Keyless features with start, stop and a hands-free tailgate become available. There are few minor upgrades around the crossover to make it more convenient.
With the Audi Q3 Prestige you get the most features. First of all, the MMI system becomes standard and the 12-inch display is the center of the so-called virtual cockpit. Of course, the audio system is from the well-known B&O with a total of 680 watts and 15 speakers. More sensors and smart functions will attract attention and make the drive safer.
Future
The upcoming model will remain mostly unchanged due to other changes in the lineup. The German automaker got rights for the entire Q1-Q9 segment after some time. The priority is the full-size model, which is larger than Q7 . It will be Q8 and the first teaser images show us how it would look. Also, Audi is working on the Q1. We still don’t know exactly what this crossover will look like, but some rumors suggest a fully electric version or a coupe model.
Audi Q3 vs BMW X1
The battle continues. Both vehicles use the same engine displacement with the same performance. BMW offers two-wheel drive for its small car product. However, this is not the main shortcoming. But fuel economy stumbles in the third quarter. This is the main reason why we believe Audi will introduce a new engine, either a smaller displacement or a hybrid. People buy small cars for their efficiency. Those who need more power or space opt for a larger Q5 or Q7. One of the rare advantages is that such vehicles are not available, which leaves the Q3 only at an attractive price.
Release date
Without major changes, the Audi Q3 release date won’t be announced anytime soon, but if the company decides to introduce a performance version or a hybrid, it will be a reason for a big debut. These novelties don’t affect the base price of the Premium version, which starts under €35,000. Premium Plus adds €3,000 and the heavily loaded Prestige will cost you €44,000 before upgrades.
