After details on the standard new BMW X6, BMW unveils the most exciting package for its coupe SUV. The M version brings some serious updates that will stun even fans who side with Audi or Mercedes . Exterior upgrades are eye-catching, while the interior is stunning.

New BMW X6

Under the hood, the BMW X6 M gets the special treatment. A 4.4-liter V8 can deliver more power than the standard version. Compared to the X5 M, the coupe SUV offers less headroom in the rear. There are other changes and similarities as well, but we will discuss them later in this review.

Currently, we know that the base version will be redesigned next year, with the shape being carried over to the New BMW X6 M. We were able to see the test mule, but it was heavily covered and didn’t show a glimpse of what to expect from it.

We could also take a look inside the cabin, but the situation is the same there. Lots of covers, but the company hasn’t hidden details from the keen eyes of its biggest fans. Under the hood, the X6M continues to squeeze every pony out of the 4.4-liter V8 engine. Again, the output is still unknown. According to some leaked stories, the upcoming performance SUV will be more powerful than ever.

What do we know so far?

Only a few things are already certain about the New BMW X6 M. The SUV will be redesigned like its base sibling. So the X6 will reach the year model, while the M package will follow a year later. The performance-oriented SUV was spied in Germany. Under the heavy camouflage, we can only make out the famous kidney grille and a few other details. Headlights and air dams are pretty much the same as before, while the bumper is well hidden behind the panels. The M model will have the same dimensions as the standard model. Experts say that the slope of the rear end makes the back lower. It’s hard to tell because it’s maybe a 1-inch difference.

What else can we expect?

In addition to the things we have seen (or not), we can also be sure that the new BMW X6 M will come with an M badge. Blue and red stripes will tell you immediately which model it is. One of the badges will take the position in the center of the wheel, which will probably be 20-inchers. The company could push it up to 21 inches. Inside the cabin, there will be less headroom thanks to the sloping roof. Don’t even think about the third row. The X5 is the SUV for you if you need a 7-seater.

Some of the interior features are carried over from the new X5 and X6. Of course, the M package brings a lot of unique details and equipment that make it sportier and more luxurious. Aside from a few spy photos, we don’t have too many clues about the interior of the New BMW X6 M.

New BMW X6 M engine and technical data

Under the hood of the New BMW X6 M will definitely be a 4.4-liter V8. That’s the safe bet. BMW can’t offer anything better and more powerful. Unless they stun the entire industry with the new engine. A V8 can produce over 600 hp. Currently, the SUV is at 600, and the optional package pushes it to 617 hp. On the other hand, the all-new X7 M will be able to produce over 650 hp. The X6 M is somewhere in between these figures. The SUV still needs at least 4 seconds for a sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour.

New BMW X6 M vs Mercedes GLE AMG

The battle between BMW and Mercedes is present in every segment. Well, the current focus is on the full-size segment, where BMW introduced the all-new X7 and the M package is coming next year. Mercedes is also active, with the new generation of the GLS on the way, with hybrid engines and a more luxurious AMG package. We have already become accustomed to the rivalry between X6M and GLE AMG . These two performance-oriented SUVs will divide the market again and fight for more buyers. The price is better than the full-size models. You still need a six-figure check to get your autos model.

New BMW X6 M Price

The New BMW X6 M is the most expensive version thanks to the numerous upgrades. The base mid-size SUV costs around €65,000 (Euro). However, it uses a V6 engine, and the X6 with a V8 powertrain has a higher price (probably around €80,000 (Euro). With all the upgrades available, it reaches €100,000 (Euro). It is still less than the cost of the M model, which will start at €110,000 (Euro). It is €15,000 (Euro) less than the X7 M. The Mercedes GLE63 AMG costs around €5,000 (Euro). More expensive versions are the Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
