New Ford Flex 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The latest Ford Flex vehicle is coming out. But this model only includes a mild remix of things we saw in the previous refresh for this car. Since Ford had a lot to do with the latest versions and models that are expected to come out this year and next, the Flex’s design took its toll. The model doesn’t change dramatically and looks essentially the same as the previous incarnation.
Ford Flex
The model was first released in 2007 and first unveiled at the New York Auto Show. The model went on sale in 2008 and was a refreshing new design that Ford offered for this segment. The next model cam in 2011 when the car received a major update building on the success it had with the original model.
The 2011 design was unveiled at the LA Auto Show and featured a three-bar grille and “FLEX” lettering placed in place of the Ford lettering, but a more interesting update was the addition of a V-6 engine.
Next came the 2014 model, which gave us a styling over the previous version and is actually the model that the version copies and bases its design on. This is now an extended version of that model that doesn’t have a whole lot of expansion. You can still get the six or seven seat versions and an option for either a RWD or an AWD system. Available trims
Since not many changes have been made, the Ford Flex will continue to be offered in the same trim levels that were used before, namely SE, SEL and Limited versions.
Design
The exterior of the Ford Flex will be pretty much the same in terms of design. It will have similar styling. The innovations introduced with the 2014 model will remain for the car, so for example the single-bar grille and the signature blue oval Ford emblem will not be featured here as expected, as they have been dropped in favor of the Flex badge. The biggest novelty is the two new exterior colors that the model will receive: Sunset Metallic and Oxford White.
The SE trim features halogen headlights with auto lamp function, rear window defroster, power door locks, speed sensitive front wipers, black roof rack side rails with a body colored roof.
The SEL version offers equipment such as a bright stainless steel beltline, a black painted roof, body-colored handles and silver roof rack side rails. Of course, all of the aforementioned parts from the SE trim are also included.
But the Limited, of course, uses the most upgrades. These include LED taillights, HID headlights, a backup system, power door locks with automatic locking, chrome door handles, body-colored outside mirrors, and a body-colored roof.
Interior changes Ford Flex
The interior of the Ford Flex retains the shape and styling of the previous version, with some new additions and small improvements. The new cluster is from before, and the model also carries over an updated steering wheel, new seat trims with foam and electronic surfaces. Optionally available are the active parking assistance system with ultrasonic sensors to control the navigation system, as well as SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link with GPS technology and 3D mapping.
The SE trim adds climate control, ice blue interior lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with the same leather on the gear knob, a cockpit-integrated display, privacy glass on the rear door panels and a DVD entertainment system with two headrests.
The SEL version comes with MyKey, storage pockets for all doors, an overhead console with map lights and sunglasses holder, and tinted glass for all windows.
The Limited, in addition to all of the above features, also offers dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood inlay and cruise, driver’s seat memory and ambient lighting.
Engine from Ford Flex
The latest Ford Flex offers us the option to choose between two engine options. The one offered is the 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 287 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 254 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, with an EPA rating of 18 MPG city and 25 MPG on the highway.
The second is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost with 365 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm and an EPA rating of 16 MPG city and 23 MPG highway.
You can get both engines with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, but the base comes with a standard FWD system and AWD is optional, but the second engine uses AWD as standard.
Release date and price
The latest version of the Ford Flex will make its debut early this year as it will be released in January. The SE version will be priced at $31,995, the SEL will cost $34,595 and the Limited will be available at a price of $40,395.
