Nikola Badger 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

Here is another interesting electrified pickup truck. It’s not Tesla, but Nikola. The upcoming Nikola Badger is the brand new pickup truck that could be a very strong option in this segment. Companies like Rivian, Tesla and Bollinger are promising new trucks with amazing capabilities. Badger pickup is no different. Unlike the other new models, Badger is not fully electric.

Pick up Nikola Badger

It’s a plug-in hybrid version or a fuel cell electric vehicle. Call it what you will. Nikola Badger will generate its power from a hydrogen fuel cell stack and will look both futuristic and weird. Of course, the release date is still two years away, so we don’t have all the information. On the other hand, here’s what we know so far, so take a closer look.

Nikola Badger looks modern and futuristic

The upcoming Nikola Badger will be unveiled in September. Until then, we’ll have to rely on photo renderings. First of all, the new pickup will look very modern and futuristic. On the other hand, the shape and design look strange. Nevertheless, Badger looks aggressive, especially up front. The front fascia houses an LED light bar and a bolder front bumper. A similar lighting system can be found on the new GMC Sierra model.

The hood looks bulky and we like the sporty look of the fender flares. Complete body looks curvy and the manufacturer really loves to use an angular approach. The side skirts are illuminated while the Nikola logo sits on the back and looks modern. Dimensionally, the Badger pickup will be 232 inches long and 85 inches wide. In addition, Badger is 72.8 cm tall.

Drivetrain

If the reports are correct, the new Nikola Badger will be able to produce up to 906 horsepower. Moreover, 980 lb-ft of torque sounds very unreal. It’s an interesting promise from the automaker, and Rivian has done the same. Until it’s official, you shouldn’t believe in these reports. Nikola said that the power will be sent to an “independent” AWD system, which clearly indicates the quad-motor setup. That means one motor per axle is available, and Badger will deliver excellent towing capacity.

Hydrogen fuel cell

The manufacturer plans to use hydrogen for its new pickup truck. The Nikola Badger will be one of the models that will receive this type of powertrain. Nikola plans to build 700 new hydrogen stations in Europe. Currently, only 42 hydrogen refueling stations are available in all of North America. Let’s say the hydrogen plans are great for the company and for humanity. Nevertheless, the Badger pickup can function without it, running on electric power alone.

With this setup, you can expect about 300 miles of driving range. Of course, you’ll need to charge your battery from time to time. Why would anyone buy a dual or quad power vehicle to only use half of its potential? It seems like Nikola has a lot of explaining to do.

The Nikola Badger will compete with the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T pickup trucks .
