Nissan Altima 2025: Updates and changes in the new generation

Nissan has kept its promise when it comes to designing the Nissan Altima. Usually, when a designer releases an updated model, it is rare to see so many changes. Sometimes, mid-cycle designing does not include many innovations. But the makers in Nissan said that the latest Altima will surprise everyone.

Nissan Altima

The fifth generation Nissan Altima came out just a few years ago but had a slow start. People actually had to realize sometimes how good the car actually is. The new Altima was designed to be a fun vehicle and offered a nice and smooth ride. The seats were very comfortable and the interior was exceptional as it brought a different level of entertainment.

What people didn’t realize about this model, however, is that it may offer the best fuel economy ratings in the segment. By the end of the year, the Nissan Altima managed to outperform all of its major competitors. No one could have predicted this, and people immediately assumed that the Altima would struggle in a very competitive segment.

Now with the Nissan Altima we are getting more improvements than we initially expected. There are a few reasons why the Altima is changing so much. One of them is that the main competition vehicle, the Toyota Camry, was announced each time with a very extensive refresh. On the other hand, there is also talk of the latest Nissan Maxima being updated. The Maxima will lend much of its newness to the Altima, and this is all thanks to the latest Nissan Sport Sedan concept model they are based on.

The Nissan Altima also represents the future of the lineup as most of the cars that will come out under the Nissan banner are expected to have similar features and updates. You can read all about the release date and information about the Altima here in our review and it will help you approach the car.

When is the Nissan Altima release date?

The comprehensive redesign of the Nissan Altima has been talked about for some time. It has also been the main topic of discussion for many analysts and fans. But only now do we have official confirmation about the changes that will be introduced. What we expect is that the fans will flock and people will continue to buy this car in the same amount as they did with the first models of the fifth generation. This one can only be better and it doesn’t matter how many extensive updates the final has given. All in all, we expect the release date for the Nissan Altima to be in the early part of and we will see how much the car will increase its sales.

Will the price change?

Unfortunately, the price of the Nissan Altima is subject to change. This was somewhat expected. Due to the extensive changes the car has undergone, it is only normal for it to change its price. This is not a bad thing at all as the price is still appropriate for the compact segment. The base Altima 2.5 starts at $22,500 while the S version costs $22,900. We also got the SR for $24,470, the SV for $25,460 and the SL for $28,570. As for the 3.5 Altima, the SR trim costs $27,990 while the SL costs $32,690.

Upgrades to the exterior of Nissan Altima

It is quite noticeable that the Nissan Altima would get the features of the Maxima model. But it seems that they did the right thing with this. The vehicle has improved and looks sharper, which is what the designers had been aiming for all along. The front end has been changed the most as it added a V-shaped grille and new headlights that are longer and slimmer. The bumper has also been changed and received muscular features. The rear of the car has remained mostly intact. There is a revised chrome trim and also a new spoiler. Add to this the latest bumper and we get quite a fashionable styling of the vehicle that fans will appreciate a lot.

The profile is not changed and is the only part of the Nissan Altima that has been completely transferred. To tell the truth, the fifth generation model has an excellent profile, so in all seriousness it did not need to change at all. The belt line is very beautifully shaped and the roof line is very sporty. Other new features in the exterior are the new 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and the new Deep Blue Pearl exterior color. The model has also received additional aerodynamic properties that reduce the drag coefficient to 0.26.

Interior

The interior of the Nissan Altima actually looks pretty good. There haven’t been many complaints about the interior of the fifth generation model. However, introducing a new type of design was paramount to innovate the design even further. They decided to redesign the center stack and add some new elements to the center console. The steering wheel is also new and the zero-gravity seats have been updated for more comfort and softer materials.

The SR trim has the most updates added. There are now blue accents on the steering wheel, seats, door panels and there are several leather wraps, namely on the steering wheel, gear lever and door panels. The NissanConnect SM with Mobile App offers a choice of a 5- or 7-inch display.

What is engine selection?

Under the hood of the Nissan Altima, things will also remain the same. The model will feature the same two engine option that the 5th generation vehicles launched with. So, we have the choice between 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V-6. The four-cylinder version offers an output of 182 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, while the V-6 is a more powerful option that delivers 270 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. To achieve better and more responsive shifting, the model will use an Xtronic CVT transmission. The specified option is still valid and keeps the vehicle’s stats in the same range as most competing models in this segment.

0-62 mph per hour and maximum speed

If the engine options of the Nissan Altima remain the same, the acceleration and top speed of the car will remain the same. This means that the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed estimated at 130 mph. With these numbers, the vehicle will maintain a stable offering that other models in the segment also have. All in all, there are no improvements here, but it is still very competitive in terms of speed and acceleration.

What about the fuel economy of the Nissan Altima?

There are rumors suggesting that the Nissan Altima will get an improvement in fuel economy. The outgoing model has already given us excellent specs in terms of fuel economy, and we didn’t think an improvement could be possible. But with the better aerodynamics that the car possesses, it will help the car consume even less fuel. The EPA stats say that the four-banger will make 39 mpg on the highway, 27 mpg in the city a combined rating of 26 mpg.

Safety devices

In terms of safety, the Nissan Altima is safe. The vehicle will carry over the equipment that the previous vehicle started with, and it’s actually a good thing. It has achieved great results before and will only now continue with the next model. The outgoing mode has been rated Top Safety Pick by the IIHS and says a lot about the new model. In addition to the standard airbags that the vehicle includes, there are also other highlights such as lane departure warning, blind spot warning, tire pressure monitoring, moving object detection, a rearview monitor, and smart car headlights.

Dimensions of the Nissan Altima

As for the size of the Nissan Altima, it is the same. This time, no updates have been made to improve the car. The wheelbase is 109.3 inches with an overall length of 191.9 inches. The overall width is 72.0 inches and the height is 57.8 inches.

Competitors in the segment

The Nissan Altima is still the leader in the compact segment. But the usual company of rivals is still very much present. With the updated Toyota Camry, it also has to face the Honda Accord model. As we said, these are cars that the Altima is very familiar with, so we’ll see who comes out on top this time.
