Nissan GT-R 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
In theory, the Nissan GT-R will be part of the sixth generation, but the first GT-R offered in Europe will be the R35. For this reason, in reality it is a standalone model derived from the NissanSkyline, the sports line that dates back to 1969. It is a hard-built car that costs a lot of money, but also a lot for the price.
Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R has changed inside and out over the years. It has come a long way from the first prototype to the speedbeasts of the modern era. It was first introduced in 2002 as a boring prototype and later in 2005 as something that resembled the production model. This model entered production in 2007 for the Japanese market and in 2008 for the rest of the world. It was everything Japan had to offer. Main designers wanted to produce not just another European car, but something that would reflect all of modern Japanese culture. Stylistic elements were taken from the Japanese cartoons, which (besides gaming) depict trending mechanics.
This is a pretty expensive supercar that is said to be hybrid vehicles and entered the Guinness Book of Records in the drawing. Also, the competition has had a very hard time coming close to what the GT-R has been doing for quite some time. It took Porsche two generations of its 911 Turbo models to come anywhere close to what the Japanese manufacturer did to the GT-R with just a solid tune-up. Ferrari has gone through the same daunting task, but none of them could keep up and justify what the Nissan model could do.
So the question remains, is the new Nissan GT-R as perfect as people say, what not to do to expand its features and make it better? The first thing that comes to mind is of course the style, and it seems normal to want to change the car to a more modern style. Next, of course, is the weight balance, which will help it with performance and allow it to have even better specs. This would also include adjusting the center of gravity. Finally, we come to aerodynamics, which is a science of its own. If the designers manage to do this part well, half the job is done.
So how will they bring out the latest Nissan GT-R that everyone is rumored about? Here’s our review and take on this speed demon.
Release date is not certain
Since the model was updated before the Nissan GT-R, the new version will probably be the Nissan GT-R Nismo. The base version will probably be postponed to as planned long ago. It will be made as/or inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo concept car. We draw the conclusion from the interview of NISMO CEO Takeo Katagiri. He said that they will develop the brand new GT-R NISMO GT3. It was emphasized that the basis of the model will be the current R35 production model. This statement is the main reason why we do not believe that we will witness the next generation soon. Not for next year.
No statements have been released regarding the Nissan GT-R release date, but we believe they will manage to give us at least a prototype for the fourth quarter of 2017 and a release date for the first quarter of .
Overall, all news except the one about the hybrid version is considered false until proven otherwise. If we follow this yellow brick path, we have to assume that we will get the new, updated models every year. The Nissan GT-R NISMO will act as a window into the future of updates.
Do we know the GT-R price?
It’s hard to say for sure what the Nissan GT-R will be priced at. Especially when there is no official news other than the rumor about the Hybrid Nismo model and some talk about the all-new Nissan GT-R base model for some time in .
The base price for the 2017 edition was €111,585 (Euros) and you can expect the price of the Nissan GT-R Nismo to increase by 50%. You can’t expect to get this car cheap and it will certainly be worth having this car for so much. People who are aware of this will not mind spending so much on the car and we even welcome the fact that the car is worth so much now.
Will the GT-R be different outside?
Every single part of the Nissan GT-R is carefully planned. Everything is in the service of speed and awesomeness. And this continuous design is what keeps the Nissan GT-R at the top of the supercar market. When you are a driver and you see the shape of this vehicle, you just know the capabilities, you know what kind of vehicle this is, you know what to expect – racing.
The larger grille and air intakes (to further cool the engine), the hood made of stronger materials, vents for additional downforce and every single curve on the car make it cut through the air like a knife.
There have been a few different designs floating around the internet, and more of them seem to be the official ones. Maybe some of these designs have some clues from the next-generation models, but that’s just a rumor. The only thing we have officially is the CEO’s statement about the NISMO model and the possible hybrid powertrain.
This will all be confirmed, of course, once the Nissan GT-R release date gets closer. The idea behind it certainly seems good and we’re likely to get something really good looking. They’ll make sure the car’s aerodynamics are the best there are and make the vehicle much more ergonomic for the competition. All we can do is sit eagerly and wait for something wonderful to happen.
inner space
The Nissan GT-R interior needs to change, at least one of the small details that they have neglected so far. This has been the case in the past, because external details are not only in the service of speed. The interior has always been a part of the overall picture and there were no flashy details until last year’s model. Nissan has learned that they need to make the car a bit more interesting for all customers, not just speed freaks or supercar enthusiasts.
That’s why the Nissan GT-R received a leather and suede-covered dashboard, better quality seats, and a central infotainment screen without smartphone connectivity. That’s one of the things Nissan will take care of in the next model. And it doesn’t matter that the next version will be the sports version, they’ll probably transfer all the good details from one model to the other without jeopardizing the future of any of the other models.
The rest is generally related to passenger safety, and it would be a nice thing to implement some kind of autonomous driving such as lane change detection, blind spot assistance, automatic parking, etc. This is the basic safety equipment for all modern vehicles, and there is no point in lagging behind, especially now that the Acura division is working really hard to make all the arrangements for the next Acura NSX Type R. And Acura is packed with cutting-edge technology, including some pieces of the “AcuraWatch” autonomous driving technology.
- Adaptive cruise control
- Braking system to reduce collisions
- Forward collision warning
- Lane departure warning
- Lane departure warning
- Rear traffic monitoring
- Blind Spot Assist
Engine specifications
There is no reason to believe that the Nissan GT-R will be any different than the current one. But if the CEO of Nissan’s sports division says they will implement hybrid technology, we should have at least some confidence.
The current engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 565 horsepower and the Nismo model has 600 horsepower. Top speed is now 300 km/h and it does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. If they really plan on making the Nissan GT-R a hybrid, that power could increase significantly. The number of horses will depend on the power of the electric motor they plan to use and we expect it to produce up to 700 horsepower just to love acceleration from 3.2 to 2.8 seconds.
One more thing, Nissan GT-R is special as it is AWD. It has an intelligent system that senses when to transfer the power evenly and when to leave it on RWD. The combination of AWD, heavy-duty six-speed dual-clutch transmission keeps this supercar at the top of the food chain. The exhaust system has also been updated and will add a lightweight titanium system that also comes with active sound enhancement. This means that the sound that the exhaust will produce will be better and not annoying as you would expect. The suspension system will also likely be upgraded with a new 20-inch 15-spoke forged aluminum wheel. The new suspension and the rigid body structure of the car will make the car more stable and help it to grip the surface much easier than before.
Potential Nissan GT-R candidates
The Nissan GT-R model can only take things to a whole new level. This also means that the vehicle does something special that will blow away the competition and make this supercar one of the greatest ever produced. The competition has long tried to catch up with Nissan and offer something that all people expected to be great. But it never happened. Brands like Porsche, Ferrari or Audi have tried everything and failed. The best they hope to archive is a draw.
But if they were just a tie, it would mean that the GT-R only needs a small push to become the only model at the top again. It also shows how high the potential of the future GR-R model is. The next cars to the Nissan GT-R were the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Audi R8 . The rumored and updated model will pass those two vehicles without resistance, ultimately making the new GT-R the most powerful car in existence again.
Verdict
There are hundreds of articles about the possibilities of the Nissan GT-R, and none of them look really real and true. Since Nissan has not released any official news, it is expected that Nismo will come out as a hybrid. No one gave the exact date of the hybrid release, but everyone assumed that it will be for the model year.
We expect that every year or every two years there will be a modernized and updated version of the current R35 model generation. The concept car is one possibility and judging by some photos on the internet, Nissan fans are seeing this “second generation” – the Nissan GT-R R36.
Fun Facts
Nissan made a TV commercial in India to celebrate the 65 th Republic Day . For the occasion, the company hired a professional driver, Rahul Kanthraj, to drive the GPS over checkpoints on a sandy surface. The end result was a gigantic map of India with a total outline periphery of 9.13 miles (1.86 miles long and 1.74 miles wide).
