Nissan Sentra 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The updated Nissan Sentra has been announced. The car, which was a very boring car and was mainly intended as a commuter vehicle that can only take you from one point to another, will now get its Nismo version that will make things a lot more fun. The version of the Sentra will be updated, adding details both inside and out and also revisiting the powertrain variant.

Nissan Sentra

The Sentra version, called the SE-R model, was once fun to drive, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the promised potential and was discounted in 2012 when the last model was made. Thankfully, now with the Nismo refresh, they’re putting more power into the Nissan Sentra’s performance.

Nissan is pleased to announce that with the current crop of Nismo vehicles, Nissan joins this group via the entry of its Sentra model. This also makes it the first mainstream and affordable model to receive this plate.

We’ve been waiting for Nissan to do something like this for a while, and the wait was worth it when images of the car first dropped. Now, as we get closer to a feasible release date, we have a lot to talk about the model.

Possible release date for the Nissan Sentra

The model is expected to be launched in late and we can then see the Nissan Sentra. The Nismo version will be offered at the same time or a few months after, so it is expected to be available at the beginning of the model year.

Possible price

The latest Nissan Sentra will likely cost around €20,000 or even less, but the Nismo update will increase the price to around €25,000 for each unit.

What does the exterior of the Nissan Sentra look like?

The new Nissan Sentra model will follow the refresh from two years ago and expand on it by taking cues from some other Nissan models. The car uses an “Energetic Flow” design language for its Altima, Murano and Maxima cars and will use it for the Sentra model as well. The biggest change will occur at the front end of the car. The grille will adopt a V-motion grille design and boomerang-shaped headlights. The same shape will be used for the taillights, but the rear ones will be connected via a chrome strip.

The changes introduced will give the latest Sentra model a much more premium look. The SR trim is a little different as it includes some sporty details and also rides on some 17-inch wheels. The Nismo cues were introduced for this model from the concept car that was made in 2013 and launched in LA. There are also special Nismo details in terms of color choices that also make the car instantly recognizable.

Interior design and changes

The interior of the Nissan Sentra is a perfect marriage of sporty details with usability and comfort. The motorsport cues are not compromised by the usability of the car and it is not the other way around either. Somehow they found a way to balance these two things perfectly and this is also beneficial for the upcoming Nismo version.

Both the driver and front passenger get padded bucket seats, trimmed in Alcantara and lined with offset red stitching. The rear bench for the Nismo version has the same trim as the standard Nismo, but comes with the same type of leather and stitching as the front. More soft-touch materials for the door panels and instrument cluster are added. Only a single color combination is offered for the interior, and that is charcoal with red accents.

Other features of the vehicle include a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and leather, a gear knob also wrapped in leather, a Nismo-specific tachometer and speedometer, a 5.0-inch digital Advanced Drive Assist display and much more.

Powertrain options and specifications

They decided not to update the existing powertrain for the Nissan Sentra. They actually took a completely unexpected approach and used a familiar engine as well. They carried over the 1.6-liter direct-injection gasoline four-cylinder previously seen in the Nissan Juke and Sentra SR Turbo models , and it is expected to deliver the same sporty performance here. It will likely get the same output of 188 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 177 pound-feet of torque 1,600 rpm. The powertrain will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

0-62 mph per hour performance

With these specifications for the Nissan Sentra’s engine, the Nismo version will offer excellent acceleration. It will be in line with its closest competitors and will likely run 0-62 mph in about 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph.

Fuel consumption specifications

The base version of the Nissan Sentra and its Nismo model will have different fuel economy ratings. The base version had an EPA spec of 29 mpg city, 37 highway, 32 combined, but we predict those numbers will be much worse for the Nismo model. A performance car will likely get closer to a 22/30/25 mpg rate, but it will still match the competing cars that have a similar fuel economy rate.

Dimensions

The changes in the dimensions of the Nissan Sentra are not taken into account. The same numbers are shown for this car as for the last one. The length of the car is
183.6 inches, with a wheelbase of 106.3 inches and a height of 58.9 inches and a width of 69.3 inches. The same goes for the passenger volume, which remains pretty much the same.

Security systems and prices

The base version of the Nissan Sentra is a pretty safe car, but the Nismo goes even further. Part of the basic equipment is the Advanced Airbag System, which comes with dual-stage supplemental front airbags, side-impact supplemental airbags, roof-mounted curtain airbags, etc. The NHTSA and the IIHS testing agency have yet to present their crash test results for this model, but looking at the previous ones that have been done, we can say that the overall rating of “Good” and a “Top Safety Pick +” is probably a lock for this version.

List of competing cars

The return of the Nissan Sentra Nismo is one that will please all fans of the automotive industry. But the competition may not share the same enthusiasm and nostalgia when this car is pumped up with the Nismo trim. The cars we have to watch out for in this segment are the Honda Civic and the Ford Focus RS version , which are considered the competing cabinets.
