Peugeot 4008 2025: Price, interior, picture.

Although it’s not a particularly well-known nameplate, the 4008 is actually one of the French company’s first crossovers. It originally came to market in 2012, at a time when management believed even more in minivans.

As a result, not enough attention was paid to its development, so the original 4008 was actually based on the old Mitsubishi ASX. It was small and not particularly fun to drive. It didn’t look great either, so it’s no wonder it was discontinued in 2017, leaving unimpressive sales figures. Things could soon change, however, as the Peugeot 4008 has been rumored by .

At the moment we don’t know much about this model. Nevertheless, the current lineup clearly shows that it will be positioned between the compact and mid-size segments. This leads to a more premium terrain, the terrain of the coupe crossovers that are becoming increasingly popular these days. As mentioned, the Peugeot 4008 is expected to be launched in the second half of the year.

design

As we just mentioned, we don’t know too much about the Peugeot 4008 . Moreover, the company itself is silent about its arrival, so we can only speculate about design features. The first thing that comes to mind is the overall layout and we suspect that it will have many things in common with the compact 3008. The two models will be very similar, especially in terms of mechanics. In addition, we also bet on the same wheelbase.

The obvious difference is in the styling. While the 3008 has a typical SUV layout, the new Peugeot 4008 would have more of a sloping roof design, giving it coupe-like styling. The French manufacturer is targeting the premium segment, models like the BMW X2 , and could be a great alternative in terms of price. On the other hand, the front end should look like the conventional counterpart.

Inner

Inside, the new Peugeot 4008 will use the same dashboard as the 3008. This brings us to the recent refresh, when we saw some nice new features, starting with a new infotainment screen and a revised digital instrument cluster. There are also new color schemes on offer and the materials have been improved too.

On the other hand, the obvious difference will be in terms of passenger space. Thanks to the sloping roof, headroom in the second row will be significantly reduced, so it is difficult to say whether the Peugeot 4008 is destined to grow up or not. In addition, the loading area will be significantly smaller.

Engine Peugeot 4008

This aspect should not bring any particular surprise. Therefore, base models should use a familiar 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine that produces around 130 hp. You can also count on a larger 1.6-liter turbo-four, which will probably be available in two power variants, with 160 or 180 hp. A diesel version is also expected, but only one. That should be a familiar 1.5-liter BlueHDI, producing around 130 hp.

The biggest novelty, however, should be a plug-in hybrid version that would use the same 1.6-liter engine but a few with one or two electric motors. The base versions feature a FWD layout with around 225 hp. On the other hand, AWD models would come with the additional electric motor on the rear axle with a total output of 300 hp.

Release date

The Peugeot 4008 is still just a rumor and we are still waiting for official confirmation. However, rumors suggest that it could arrive as early as the second half of the year.
