Peugeot 5008 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
The Peugeot 5008 is a mid-size crossover SUV with three rows of seats. This model used to be an MPV, but since the redesign in 2017, it became a sport utility vehicle. Now its popularity is growing and the Peugeot 5008 is ready to conquer new markets.
Peugeot 5008
The 7-seater offers the services of the new 8-speed automatic transmission, but also highlights the engine and high-end finishes. Since the disappearance of the minivan, the vehicle, which can accommodate 7 passengers, has been delivered with the new bodywork and new accessories.
The model lost some of its practicality. With the new class comes greater access, but also better driving characteristics and off-road capabilities. The advantages of the Peugeot 5008 are comfort and elegance. Whatever happens, the SUV is quiet on the road. If the buyer opts for premium paintwork with 18 or 19-inch wheels, the vehicle becomes even more stylish. And the overall impression gets a further boost from the leather shells, which are firmer than the fabric seats.
Performance, driving, handling
Unfortunately, those interested in the introduction of the new 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission coupled with the 180 hp diesel engine will inevitably be forced to take the high-end GT-Line and GT models. However, the GT version with 19-inch Continental EcoContact tires is less eye-catching than the GT-Line model with 18-inch Michelin Primacy that was standard last season.
The 7-seater SUV shows its full potential with the TDI engine with 190 hp. There is also a new version of the DSG 7 automatic transmission. This makes the Peugeot 5008 GT EAT8 much more pleasant to drive. At higher speeds, the original Aisin automatic transmission provides smoothness. It is also quite quiet and tries not to abuse the passengers even in sport mode. More demonstrative and therefore more sonorous, it offers limited interest due to the handling and the paddle shifters. The GT version with EAT8 reaches an average of 6.3 l/100 km.
Peugeot 5008 vs 3008
Experts found 70 percent similarities between these two crossover SUVs. Highlights are the interior and its comfort. The finesse of these two are retractable armchairs. If we compare the new 5008 with its competitors, it is more spacious than the brand new Skoda Kodiaq or the VW Tiguan Allspace 7-seater. Not to mention the Renault Grand Scenic, which is not in this league.
Cargo space
Renault Grand Scenic and Skoda Kodiaq have only five seats. A 7-seater option costs 850 euros. The Peugeot 5008 comes with seven seats as standard. To appease those who choose the longest body only to enjoy a deeper trunk, Peugeot has designed two removable chairs. They add two trunks of 40 liters each, bringing the total cargo volume to 780 liters. It’s 60 liters better than Kodiaq. Removing these seats requires less effort as they weigh only 11 kilograms.
Features
Owners love their SUV for its driving performance and quiet cabin. It increases overall comfort. The Peugeot 5008 will only enhance this impression. Its modularity is worthy of a minivan, but with more stylish styling. The previous version has set some highlights, comfortable and adjustable seats take the top position. There is also space for cargo.
The interior offers a stylish look and some of the most advanced features for the infotainment system. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is particularly noteworthy. The high-end finishes will also make a difference. Under the hood of the Peugeot 5008 is a 2.0 BlueHDi 180 engine as the most popular option. It produces 180 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
Competitors
The price of the new Peugeot 5008 is not yet available. The company only announced the cost of the GT model, which starts at 45,000 euros. The competition comes from Hyundai Santa Fe, whose XL edition also offers 7-seater layout and plenty of space. With a 2.2-liter CRDi engine, it produces 200 hp and costs 53,000 euros. Kia Sorento comes with the same setup but a 5-seater configuration and the lower price.
Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan Allspace are two very similar SUVs. Under the hood is a 2.0 l TDI engine and Volkswagen offers more equipment for its brand. Kodiaq starts at 40,000€. Nissan X-Trail is another cool option and costs only 36,000. Mitsubishi Outlander also offers the PHEV system. It is the best-selling plug-in hybrid so far in 2019.
Peugeot 5008 verdict
The Peugeot 5008 will be one of the most family-friendly SUVs for the European market. It is also Peugeot’s most comfortable product. 5008 is not only beautiful, but also offers many options for optional equipment. The driver’s seat is the most enjoyable place to take advantage of the efficiency of the new SUV.
