When is the release date for the Porsche 911 GT2?

The new Porsche 911 GT2 is expected to arrive next year. Although the car has been in production for some time and the test prototype has been doing laps since then, they have already finalized what the car will look like and how it will perform. Even though much of the information is being kept secret, the model will still be available at the start of the model year.

What’s the price?

The price of the Porsche 911 GT2 will be a considerable sum. The model will cost just under €200,000 (Euros) and you can thank the great design and immense performance that the car offers for this high but reasonable price.

External updates

The exterior of the Porsche 911 GT2 has been kept secret for a long time. Since the spy photos surfaced, we’ve been able to guess what the production version will look like. But with the latest images, we see that the car hasn’t deviated too much from its original styling. The model features a wider fender than the Turbo-style air intakes of the GT3 version. We also see a completely redesigned rear wing that offers more aerodynamic properties and better stability.

The Porsche 911 GT2 looks like a next-generation Turbo in many ways, but with a slightly more aggressive styling. In addition to the larger air intakes, the front end also features newly manufactured LED headlights, while the rear has a center-mounted exhaust system with an additional fixed rear spoiler.

Interior

The interior of the Porsche 911 GT2 may still be under development. This actually means that they have the base but will still fit in additional equipment that is necessary for the car. We are probably looking at a model that has the same setup as your base Porsche 911 Turbo and will be upgraded with some sportier elements and a GT2 badge. No doubt we will be able to tell these two cars apart and it will be easy to do once you get in the car. The model still needs some polishing inside and this probably means more technology will need to be added. However, rest assured that the comfort levels and new materials are handled and implemented correctly here.

Drivetrain

Even if the automakers are keeping almost everything about the Porsche 911 GT2 under wraps, there have been some leaks about its powertrain that the public has gotten their hands on. So now we know that they are likely planning to use a turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six under the hood, which also promises to deliver 560 to 570 horsepower to the rear wheels. It is also speculated that the engine will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

0-62 mph per hour capability

With this engine on deck for the Porsche 911 GT2, we also have some estimates on the car’s top speed. We have some information that tells us that the car can sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 3 seconds and can also reach a top speed of around 200 miles per hour, making the 911 GT2 one of the fastest production cars Porsche has made.

Fuel consumption values

No words on the fuel consumption of the Porsche 911 GT2. But if the previous models have taught us anything, this is a part of the car that many people will not care about. Yes, the model consumes a lot of fuel and this is necessary to achieve the required performance for which it was projected. Expect reasonable fuel consumption consistent with the performance of the vehicle.

Dimensions

When it comes to the dimensions of the Porsche 911 GT2, they remain the same as your base model. The car is not reshaped in a major way so it changes the overall styling and the entire car. Thus, the size is 177.1 inches in overall length, 96.5 inches wheelbase, 71.2 inches in width, and 50.8 inches for height.

Safety equipment

As for the safety geos for the Porsche 911 GT2, it’s the same news as the insider technology. The car will have a constant dose of safety equipment that is necessary to make the people inside feel safe and comfortable. However, we are still not aware of the entire package. The car will get some advanced features and we expect them to be updated for the racy version of the 911 model. Perhaps with the standard and regular setup you have in this type of car, you expect some more advanced and specific ones for the 911 GT2 version.

Competing models

There are probably not many models that can compete with the Porsche 911 GT2. In terms of style, there may be some cars that can offer the same level of luxury and comfort, but it might be difficult to find one with the same kind of performance. The model we have in mind is certainly the Aston Martin Vanquish, which has the means to be one of the competing cars of the future 911 GT2.
