Subaru Forester 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.

The current generation of Subaru’s famous compact crossover has been around for several years. Each generation knows the usual production cycle of most Subaru models and lasts about five years. The Subaru Forester will represent the fourth year of production of the current generation. During this time, the Japanese manufacturer will bring major updates. This will be a mid-cycle update and will bring mainly visual changes.

SUV Subaru Forester

The test model has already been spotted on the road wearing some camouflage, so it’s not a stretch to assume that the majority of this mid-cycle refresh will revolve around visual changes. Aside from that, we may see some tweaks on the inside as well as additions in terms of standard equipment.

On the other hand, the engine range will likely remain the same, although some sources suggest a new turbo version in the lineup. Considering the updates, the Subaru Forester will likely arrive a little earlier than usual, but still sometime in the second half of the year.

Redesign

As mentioned, this update is mostly a styling one, so expect a decent number of visual changes. The test model has already been spotted on the road wearing some camouflage. However, knowing Subaru’s usual policy, it’s hard to believe that these visual changes would be as significant as the massive camouflage suggests. Most likely, the headlights will remain the same, at least as far as the exterior shape goes. On the other hand, we could see a new grille as well as a new front bumper. The rest of the vehicle would probably remain the same, although we’re certainly counting on things like new wheels and color options.

Some sources also suggest a new appearance package that would make this small SUV look off-road. This would likely mean the use of black plastic on the grille and other typical areas, along with blacked-out wheels and similar details that would make this crossover look bulky. On the other hand, we don’t expect any mechanical changes for the Subaru Forester.

Inner

On the other hand, the interior of the Subaru Forester is said to be different than the current model. Subaru rarely makes major interior changes during production cycles, so this should be no exception. Still, we may see some new materials and color schemes on offer.

The overall design remains the same, which isn’t a bad thing at all. The current model is still quite fresh and looks quite nice from the inside. The overall build quality is pretty impressive, while the materials are pretty good too.

Since the overall design is set to remain the same, the interior won’t change either. You can count on two spacious rows of seats, both of which are capable of accommodating adults with ease. Cargo space also offers some pretty impressive numbers for the class. You can expect about 31.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 76.1 cubic feet of total cargo volume.

Characteristics

Of course, new features in this area are sure to come. We can’t talk about details at this point, but we definitely expect some additions to the standard equipment. Still, it has to be said that the current model is already pretty decent in this regard, because it comes with goodies like automatic climate control, 6.5-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD radio, Bluetooth and four speakers. Potential candidates for standard equipment can be found on the current options list, which includes goodies like dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, panoramic sunroof, navigation, an 8-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker audio system, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, two additional USB ports, etc.

Motor

Things under the hood are said to remain the same. Some sources suggested the possibility of a turbo-four option, but it looks like that won’t happen. The Subaru Forester will continue with just one engine option on offer, a familiar 2.5-liter engine that makes around 182 horsepower and comes with a CVT transmission. Performance seems decent and would satisfy most drivers, but we’d definitely like to see something more powerful coupled with the company’s famous AWD system.

This engine is pretty good in terms of fuel economy. You can count on 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, which is above average for the class and even more impressive when we consider the standard all-wheel drive.
