Subaru Legacy: Sedan with All Wheel Drive.
The new Subaru Legacy is a solid choice for those looking for standard all-wheel drive, top crash test scores, plenty of standard safety features, and excellent outward visibility. The release date should be expected sometime in the second quarter of .
Subaru Forester
The new Subaru Legacy comes with all-wheel drive, which is a strong and unusually likeable feature for a modern family sedan. We’re particularly impressed with the quality of the interior, but compared to its more established rivals, the Legacy’s dashboard design is a little stark.
The new model’s simple and straightforward interior design is underlined by Subaru’s no-nonsense approach to car design. Common touch points such as the center console and armrests are offered with soft-touch materials, while the optional touchscreen navigation system features user-friendly, crisp graphics thanks to large icons and smartphone-like usability.
The front seats are comfortable and offer plenty of front headroom. Further back, the 15-cubic-foot trunk trails the competition, while headroom and legroom are a bit less than the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord. Still, the Legacy is roomy for a small family sedan.
Underneath the Subaru Legacy, things remain the same as before. However, the way it drives falls a little short. It’s less comfortable and a bit slower than the competition. Both the six- and four-cylinder engines are smooth and quiet, but acceleration is mediocre. On the plus side, however, the standard all-wheel drive system provides a good resume, especially when the prevailing conditions are mundane.
When cornering, the latest Subaru Legacy is easy to drive and precise, but an abundance of lean or body roll prevents the car from feeling truly sporty.
Still, many quirks hold back the Subaru Legacy. Some of them include lackluster acceleration and a stiffer ride compared to the competition. Owners love Subaru, and we especially love the Legacy. Brand loyalty is almost staggering, but this is a highly competitive segment with very compelling and appealing options.
In terms of driving fun, technology and design, these competitors are the best choice: the Toyota Camry, the Mazda 6, the Ford Fusion, the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord.

Engine specifications
The inspiration for the Subaru Legacy comes from a four-cylinder 2.5-liter and a 3.6-liter V6 engine. The base engine is paired with a CVT with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters that transfers the power generated – 175 hp and 174 lbs. ft. of torque to the AWD system.
The V6, on the other hand, produces 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque and is offered with the same transmission as the base engine. All mills are offered with a standard AWD system.
Zipping from 0-100 km with the Legacy 2.5i Premium takes 9.4 seconds. This is a dismal acceleration compared to what the competition offers, with many of its direct rivals achieving the same sprint in under 8.0 seconds.
