Toyota RAV4
What stands out among the highlights of RAV4 is the seamless combination of comfortable and well-equipped interior, versatility and interior space. And as any sports fan will attest, you may have a well-rounded team, an award-winning coach and pack the stands but still not find glory. Well, the latest Toyota RAV4 is perhaps the perfect metaphor here. Even with such amazing features, it still comes up a bit short in terms of segment rankings. The problem is that there are a multitude of similarly or better equipped options in its category.
To its credit, the automotive giant has tinkered with the model this year in hopes of rejuvenating it. The interior design, for example, features more pronounced lines and angles that make for a modern and streamlined appearance. The number of cup holders is adequate, but some of the climate and audio controls feel a bit flimsy. However, if you’re looking for premium upholstery like leather, you won’t be lacking, as the model only offers leatherette and cloth upholstery.
The RAV4 SE features sporty suspension and styling. Toyota added it to the RAV4 trim lineup because it hoped to follow in the footsteps of the Sienna SE and Camry, both of which offer sport-tuned suspension and improved handling and steering. You’d be right to say the RAV4 continues its polished resume for the model year, but what you might not realize is how much its competitors have grown in both character and performance.
These rivals include the Mazda CX-5 , Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V . They boast a more versatile cabin, better fuel economy, class-leading acceleration and car-like handling. Still, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid offers some extensive features that the rest of its competition will be hard-pressed to match. Ultimately, your choice will depend solely on what you consider to be your most attractive attribute.

The Toyota RAV4 5-seat compact sport utility vehicle is offered in Limited, SE, XLE and LE trim levels. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid review is covered separately.

Engine specifications
Inspiring the Toyota RAV4 is a 176 hp and 172 lbs. ft. torque – producing 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is the AWD system. With the AWD as a test version, a 0-60 mph zip is achieved in just 9.2 seconds.
EPA stats show you should expect 23 city, 30 highway and 26 combined mpg with the FWD and 22/29/25 mpg with all-wheel drive. While solid, it falls a little short compared to what its competition offers, particularly the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V.
Release date & price
RAV4 pricing is expected to start at an MSRP of $24,350. When will it be available? Rumors suggest it will likely go on sale in early .
