Toyota Tacoma 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data.
A refresh has finally been provided for the Toyota Tacoma car. The midsize pickup truck segment has been coming on and on lately, with many new models offering excellent value. Despite being a simple model and a household name at best, the Tacoma brand has been on the short end of the stick lately. A refresh was more than necessary and we are proud that they have finally added one.
Tacoma
This promises to be everything that Tacoma fans wanted from their car. Of course, it was impossible to start from scratch and rebuild the car, but they managed to add a new cabin structure, improve the features offered, tweak the suspension a bit, make the car much quieter inside, and also offer new powertrains as well.
The new Toyota Tacoma will be released soon and the update has also been shown in various images that will be released. The official presentation is not yet planned, but we know that the model will offer six trim levels with SR, SR5, TRD Sport and TRD Offroad, Limited and TRD Pro, and the last one is a package that will further emphasize the off-road capabilities of the Tacoma.
What is the release date for the Toyota Tacoma?
The new updated version of the Toyota Tacoma will be offered on the American market next year. The model is expected to be presented for the first time this year and will be released at the end of the year, but only for the domestic market. We can expect the model to cross the pond by early , when it will go on sale there.
What is the price of the new Toyota Tacoma?
When it comes to the price of the Toyota Tacoma, it is yet to be officially reported. We believe that the model will probably cost around €25,000 (Euro) to start with, which will be a bit more compared to the current base MSRP price.
Redesign
The facelifted Toyota Tacoma has received some new details. Although the truck’s redesign takes a long time and it’s possible that you won’t really notice the changes from model to model when they’re implemented, the same is true for the Tacoma. This time around, they managed to add some more fitting changes. These include a higher hood that’s matte on an already imposing front fascia. The TRD Offroad and TRD Pro look much bolder and thanks to the black alloy wheels, we also get a 1-inch suspension lift.
Oddly enough, the side of the Tacoma looks a bit more conservative than before. Although you would expect some special features with the newly offered Tacoma, they decided to tone down the redesign here. The rear section adds a three-piece bumper with resin side covers and long fiberglass reinforcements.
Interior design
The interior of the Toyota Tacoma will have a cabin with a traditional layout. However, there will be some design details that add a horizontal, shelf-like orientation as used in the newer Toyota models. There is noticeably less shine than in the previous model Tacoma, and this model pays more attention to the surfaces inside and the textures used. Each trim level offers a distinctive offering that sets it apart from others.
Drivetrain Option
A few options are offered for the Toyota Tacoma. The first base version is a 2.7-liter inline-4 engine that produces 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and is also offered with all-wheel drive. A more powerful and powerful offering is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque and is used with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
0-62 mph per hour for the Toyota Tacoma
The characteristics of the powertrain for the Toyota Tacoma have not changed, so the speed capability does not differ this time either. The car is capable of reaching a speed of 0-100 km per hour in 7.7 seconds, which is quite fast for a pickup truck, and develops a top speed of 113 mph.
Special features of fuel consumption
The fuel economy of the Toyota Tacoma is as follows. The 3.5-liter V6 engine makes 18 mpg city, 23 highway, 20 combined with the automatic shifter and comes in at 17/20/18 with the manual. With the RWD, those numbers come in at 19/24/21 mpg. On the 4-cylinder model, the automatic shifts with rear-wheel drive are 19/23/21.
Dimensions and size
The car will not grow and the same size will be implemented for the Toyota Tacoma model. The car is quite large as you would expect and the dimensions are still up to 212.3 inches in length, 127.4 inches for the wheelbase, 75.2 inches in width and 71.6 inches for the height. The total curb weight is 4661 lb while the interior passenger volume is 100 cu ft.
Safety assessments
Unfortunately, the Toyota Tacoma doesn’t really offer a high level of safety. In fact, many items that are standard on some other Toyota models don’t even make it onto the optional list for the Tacoma. All models of the Tacoma come with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution. Traction and stability control are items that are mandatory for the car. We also get eight standard airbags, including knee airbags for each front seat occupant and active head restraints to reduce whiplash. What the pickup lacks is adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking, which would make the offering much more interesting.
Rivals
The new Toyota Tacoma arrives in a completely stacked segment with one thing in mind, to compete better and turn the tide a bit more. We’ll see if the Tacoma has what it takes to be a more competitive model here and if it can offer buyers what they need. Cars to consider in the same segment include the GMC Canyon , Honda Ridgeline , Nissan Frontier and the Chevrolet Colorado .
