Toyota Tundra 2025: Price, consumption, picture, technical data. SUV

It’s finally time for an all-new Toyota Tundra, and the next generation is expected to be larger and offer a very different powertrain. The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, an official photo of which Toyota revealed, has an exaggerated front-end design with pronounced lighting elements. It also has three amber running lights integrated into the grille, which are required by law on vehicles over 80 inches wide.

Toyota Tundra

Under the hood, we expect Toyota to replace the old truck’s 381-hp V-8 with a twin-turbo V-6 that produces over 400 horses. A hybrid powertrain could also be available. The new Tundra will also likely feature a redesigned rear suspension for an improved ride, and there’s a chance an all-electric model could compete against the Ford F-150 Lightning and other upcoming EV pickups.

What’s new ?

Toyota is giving the Tundra a much-needed, complete redesign after the previous generation remained largely unchanged since its debut in 2007. It’s also the first-generation SUV to compete with the Jeep Wrangler JK, the Jeep Wrangler JK-150, the Ram 1500 , the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the GMC Sierra 1500. The new Tundra still isn’t expected to outsell those alternatives, but its myriad improvements should make it much more competitive and desirable. We expect it to officially debut in the next few months and arrive in dealerships toward the end of the year.

Engine, transmission and performance

The Toyota Tundra could be the only full-size pickup truck that doesn’t offer a V-8 engine. Instead, we believe Toyota will replace the previous generation’s 381-hp naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V-8 with a twin-turbo V-6 that makes more than 400 hp. Based on a teaser image released by Toyota, the Tundra could also be available with a hybrid powertrain. Whatever energy source powers the Tundra, it will of course be tuned specifically for pickup truck use. The rear suspension, which previously used a leaf spring setup, will also likely change from its predecessor. We think the next generation could ride on refined coil springs, air springs, or possibly even an independent rear suspension. The off-road-focused TRD Pro that Toyota showed rides on a unique set of black 18-inch wheels mounted on all-terrain tires.

Infotainment and connectivity

With the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 sporting gigantic 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment systems, the new Tundra appears to have a massive screen of its own. Based on another image teased by Toyota, it will have a large horizontally mounted touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. While we don’t know the exact size or all the features it will offer, we do know it will have Apple CarPlay. We also expect the truck’s standard infotainment system to have a smaller touchscreen.

Price Toyota Tundra

We don’t yet know how much the Toyota Tundra will cost, but we think it will be a bit more expensive than the outgoing model, which started at €35,620 (Euros). Once Toyota releases official pricing, including available trim levels and associated standard and optional features, we’ll be able to give you a buying recommendation.
