SUV VW Tarok

Of course, Tarok has yet to make a breakthrough in Europe. For this reason, this model is very uncertain in the North American markets. VW certainly has big plans for its new compact pickup. After the Tanoak pickup, Tarok arrives with smaller dimensions and powerful engines.

Volkswagen Tarok delivers sporty design

While Tanoak is larger than Tarok, both models ride on the same MQB architecture. Of course, Volkswagen Tarok is smaller, so its platform is modified. Its compact dimensions are highlighted by a 47.5-inch long bed. When Tarok arrives in Europe, this bed will be the smallest bed in the segment.

As for the design, VW promised a sharp look with distinctive features and an upscale appearance. Most of the features should be the same as the concept. A Targa-inspired roof rack is just one of the great things about this pickup. LED accents are not available up front, like on the concept. The front fascia offers a sportier design and a sleeker look. At first glance, the new Tarok looks longer than its rivals and offers a lower ride height. Currently, only a four-door version is certain.

Interior

To date, the concept is the only source of interior details. VW still hasn’t revealed what the cabin will look like. The new Volkswagen Tarok is sure to deliver an upscale cabin with plenty of modern features. After the latest reports, it became clearer that Tarok will not borrow some cues from the Tanoak model . That means we can expect a brand new cabin that looks unique.

VW will surely offer a fully digital instrument cluster. Tanoak has smaller displays, so we can expect larger units in the Tarok model. Two-tone leather upholstery is optional, and only a few automakers offer this type of upholstery. In addition, Volkswagen promises a practical cabin with plenty of space. Comfort is guaranteed, and the interior offers enough space for the compact segment.

Volkswagen Tarok powertrain

So far, only one powertrain is certain. It is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with a turbocharger. This unit delivers 150 horsepower and runs on pure E100 ethanol. In addition, the engine is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

VW offers a 4Motion AWD system as an option. We are still waiting for diesel specifications. Volkswagen Tarok will most likely use a 2.0-liter TDI. This unit perfectly meets the emission regulations in Europe and South America. However, this engine will not be enough for North America, so we can expect an engine with more power.
