The latest Volvo V40 Cross Country gets a facelift as it offers many improvements in the interior, wheels and color options, as well as updated technology. Design
Most of the updates to the Volvo V40 Cross Country can be seen from the outside. The new model gets a new sporty grille with a central mesh and a Volvo logo placed on it. The headlights are equipped with the “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight accents, making it a distinguishable Volvo car. The V40 carries over the faux front skid plates below, and the satin chrome trim is much wider than before.
A wonderful new addition is the fact that the model will be equipped with no less than eight wheels, which will be available across the entire V40 range including R-Design and Cross Country. The T5 engine is a 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 245 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You can pair it with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. You can also equip your car with Volvo’s D4 four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which is said to produce 190 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
In some parts of the world, the model can also be equipped with several other engine options, including the 1.6-liter GTDi four-cylinder engine that produces 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, as well as the 2.0-liter five-cylinder gasoline engine that goes up to 180 horses and 221 pound-feet of torque.
Release date and price
The Volvo V40 Cross Country will be available on the European market at the end of the year, shortly after the presentation in Geneva, when the first and real look at the model will be seen.
