Available trims
The five-passenger Volvo XC70 will be offered in four trim levels: base T5 Drive-E, T5 Platinum, T5 All-Wheel Drive and top-of-the-line T5 AWD Platinum. The T5 Premiere is being reviewed separately.

The base T5 Drive-E and T5 all-wheel drive come with driver memory settings, heated side mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front passenger seat, a 7-inch central display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a telescoping-and-tilt steering wheel, underbody skid plates, fog lights, an eight-way power driver seat, roof rails, and a 40/20/40-split rear seat.
Standard technology features include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, USB audio interface, smartphone app integration, an eight-speaker premium sound system, a CD player, Volvo’s Sensus Connect system, low-speed forward collision mitigation and notification, and satellite and HD radio.
The T5 Premiere package includes an automatically dimming rearview mirror, a sunroof, a rear privacy glass, a configurable instrument cluster, a navigation system and leather upholstery.
Next comes the Platinum trim, which includes all the contents of the above package, plus the Harman Kardon premium sound system, a blind spot monitoring system, adaptive xenon headlights, and interior accent lighting.
The Technology Package includes a driver alertness monitor, an enhanced collision mitigation system, automatic high beam headlight control, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign information display and a lane departure warning system.
Standalone options include dual displays, rear parking sensors, a rear entertainment system and integrated rear child bolsters.
Engine specifications
A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 240 horsepower and 258 lbs. of torque comes under the hood of the Volvo XC70. Power is sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
EPA fuel economy estimates are 23/31/26 mpg city/highway/combined. Fuel economy ratings are impressive due to the available stop-start system, which is known for its ability to automatically shut off the engine when the vehicle is stopped, saving a lot of gas.
The performance-oriented T5 AWD trim gets a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 engine that produces 250 horsepower and 266 lbs. of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via the six-speed automatic transmission.
