Volkswagen continues to develop new models for the ID. family. A concept model called ID. Space Vizzion has now been spotted for the first time during test drives – and the new electric model now bears the name VW Aero B EV for the first time. We have the latest information and pictures for you.

Now the next member of the ID. family is in the starting blocks. The ID. Space Vizzion – now known as the VW Aero B – is intended to appeal primarily to families as a station wagon and sedan and will be the electric counterpart to the Passat.

VW Aero B Specifications

Volkswagen’s electric sedan and wagon should be available in several configurations. We expect the longest-range configuration to use a 77 kWh (net) battery and a 150 kW (201 hp) rear motor.

The WLTP range in this configuration could be nearly 600 km (373 miles). Unlike today’s MEB electric vehicles, this model could offer bidirectional charging. In addition, the peak charging power could be 200 kW or more, a significant improvement over the current rate of 150 kW.

Technical data and exterior design

In the pictures, the Aero B looks quite long and large overall. It will be in the mid-range segment and is expected to be 4.96 meters long, 1.90 meters wide and 1.53 meters high. What catches your eye at first glance is the very striking front apron. The daytime running lights on the side light up our way.

There is no longer a radiator grille because it is no longer needed in an electric car. The front part of the hood is lowered and then raised slightly. This is probably for aerodynamic reasons so that the air can be directed better over the roof. The side view shows that VW has opted for a fairly high window line and very pronounced beads and notches in the sheet metal.

VW Aero B interior

Pictures of the interior are not yet known, but we assume that the interior of the ID.models already available for orientation will be used here.

In addition, the company is of course committed to sustainability and also offers leather-free options for the interior made from renewable raw materials such as AppleSkin, a synthetic leather made from waste materials from apple production. But that is not yet certain, we will have to wait a little longer.
