Volkswagen ID.Vizzion : engine, battery, range, charging times
Like most other electric cars, you will probably be able to buy the production version of the Volkswagen ID. Vizzion in two different flavors – a long-range model and a performance variant.
The endurance car will be rear-wheel drive only, generating 204bhp from a single electric motor mounted on the rear wheels. That’s enough for 0-100km/h in around eight seconds, although it feels much quicker thanks to the car’s instant power and a single gear.
Volkswagen ID.Vizzion : Styling and interior
You can expect Volkswagen’s new electric sedan to look surprisingly similar to the Volkswagen ID.Vizzion concept car. Up front, you get a sealed grille framed by matrix LED headlights and a low-set hood that give you great visibility out the front of the car.
At the sides, the Volkswagen’s coupe roof is great for aerodynamics and sharp creases over the front and rear wheels add a touch of definition. Although the concept car’s rear suicide doors – which are hinged from the back and give you great access to the cabin by eliminating the need for a B-pillar – probably won’t make it to production.
The rear of the car completes the light show that began at the front with a red LED light bar that stretches across the width of the trunk lid. Its cool glow makes the new electric sedan easy to spot at night.
Don’t like the sedan body? Then we have good news, Volkswagen is expected to offer the car as a station wagon, which it introduced with the Space Vizzion concept car.
How much will the ID Vizzion cost?
The Volkswagen ID. Vizzion is expected to start at around $55,000 when it goes on sale in .
